there wasn't anything of the first, and the second is a claim directly the opposite of what you said.

But don't let the facts stop your fantasies, I wouldn't want you to think I'm getting at you.

nope, you're 100% wrong.

there were a number of posts about Chris Martin and No Doubt,

here's one:

No Doubt with Chris Martin? Well...The Chemical Brothers it is

Edit: Gwen Stefani is an incredibly good looking woman on the other hand.

and another:

the field has been extended due to the mass exodus when people see chris martin and gwen stefani 'performing ' togeter,,,,

and another:

Chris Martin with No Doubt? "He's British..but the band aren't"

so quite clearly there was in fact "anything of the first".

as for the 2nd thing:

the only thing that fits is some sort of charity all-star gig, with Chris Martin behind it, where 2 of the bigger acts are british.

It would be a "Global Citizen" concert at which No Doubt were 'guests' (if No Doubt were involved), and quite possibly not the only 'guests'.

so clearly not directly opposite of what i said. both charity gigs with multiple performers which Chris Martin has a hand in organising.

I don't believe this, personally. It all seems a bit far fetched. The only duo I could really believe it being is Sting and Paul Simon, but as we know, they're unavailable that night. Although I don't actually want it to be Blur or Fleetwood Mac as I'm seeing them at IOW, they seem a hell of a lot more likely than these suggestions that have cropped up today.

not a good idea...motorhead would make anyone else following look incrediby quiet and dull least of all a pop act......one of those bands you do `not` want to follow and have to sound better/louder/faster then haha

I'd imagine it would be pretty fucking easy to sound better than Motorhead.

Does the lady on Facebook also mention Chris Martin? I notice grayfitz (or something like that) mentions him, but MichaelsBeard's mate heard the same conversation and doesn't mention Chris Martin at all. Is grayfitz all that everyone is going on?

yeah, but they're all self-inventions by those posters.

Perhaps pay attention to who says what and why?

If you post bullshit off the back of bullshit, that means you've posted bullshit.

OK, it's time for me to give this o9ne up, I guess ..... because that WAS Coldplay.

(they backed out because by April their stadium shows still had a lot of tickets to sell, and they didn't want to undermine those sales).

I knew it!!! Well, I suspected it, anyway.

Thanks! :)

Can someone please explain why on earth they wouldn't just pick a band to headline?! Rather than creating some kind of new supergroup come collaboration?

All a bit mental this.

because this is the year of (another) a big climate agenda push, where an act that's very close to the festival is one of the primary faces of that push?

None of that 'push' is based in Britain this time (the Europe show is in Paris), and this is a very good chance to give a big British - and worldwide - profile to it for an extra 'push', in the lead up to it?

It might not be what's happening, but that makes very good sense. Glastonbury is a festival which has always pushed the climate agenda, from long before it was fashionable.

Am I the only one actually enjoying all this? I like a good batshit supergroup/collab thing.

Am still pining after the Travelling Wilburys.

I'm enjoying it. It has people discussing headliners again, and it is much better than pages of Simpsons quotes and people repeatedly asking if it is AC/DC or Muse or someone else that is already confirmed elsewhere.

Plus it gives me a reason to clutch my Pink Floyd with Roger Waters straws :)
