i'm almost scared to post on this, just a little note, last year at the Big Weekend in Glasgow Chris Martin joined Kings of Leon for a song or 2 (do correct me if i'm wrong) and it became apparent that the band members of KOL are good friends with Chris Martin. This is just a pointer please do not take this as my "announcement" of how i've heard this from a secondary source and i'm claiming it's true

its pretty obvious `neil` is going to keep interest in this thread as high as he can for the pageviews has noone figured that out yet? dropping the odd `ive heard it from a credible source` rumour does that plainly well......or am I being to cynical? haha

Nah he got creds innit.

If it's only two bands which it seems to be. I can't see why Chris Martin needs to be involved and how it would particularly manage to raise enough awareness for the charity. Wouldn't people just turn on the TV and essentially be watching one band followed by another band. Like all glastonburys

does it?

I'm interpreting all of the information as Chris Martin has been involved in the booking and organising (which I think is true), and he has potentially been the one to sort out the Sunday headliner.

What we should be asking now is - who does Chris Martin have ties to? Who are his showbiz mates?

Jay-Z and Beyonce played already and both would be unlikely this year. Chris was probably involved in talking with those two to book Kanye. Maybe that's the involvement that Eavis meant?

I like how you put his name in inverted commas, like he's a hypothetical concept you're not entirely convinced by.

Yeah I'm hoping CM will just waddle on and introduce a couple of his big popstar mates, such as Bowie, then get the hell offa that stage before someone's daft enough to hand him a guitar

Oasis will only do it for the money.

Eavis said something last year that they had agreed on 2015 headliner on stage just now. Metallica performed last year and they share the same management as ACDC don't they? Or am I mistaken?

Cant see Oasis playing unless someone has already written them a monster cheque for a reunion tour......
