... in the Mensch twitter some girl responded that he is the manager to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers too...

are they on the table for Glasto?

Foo Fighters

Muse

Red Hot Chilli Peppers

wouldn't be that bad!

Isnt Slash part british... Original line-up G'n'R would fit the Mensch billing rumor too.

edit. Might as well go all out on the rumour-mongering

Muse for Download... that makes them less possible?

Interestingly I've not seen Muse described as an exclusive to Download anywhere and I'd imagine they would be doing all they could to get Muse fans to buy tickets.

Ofc that doesn't mean Glastonbury but it does leave it open :P (I hope :P)

That's a good point, Copping would be screaming it at the top of his lungs if he had them as an exclusive

Would he? He said he wouldn't bother with labelling bands as exclusive as FNM got around it and undermined DL a bit. Dont think he even bothered to label AC/DC as exclusive.

Could mean his not bothered about paying extra anymore for it? As its become basically meaningless and no one believes it anymore :P

I think Muse might be at IOW, but that's just my prediction.

Yeah or even V as they haven't played that since 2008 (Altough later than their current European dates).

Anyone's guess, idk I'm not buying that Muse was Copping's first option.

Pure speculation, maybe the Foos were lined up to headline the saturday - and when that fell through they turned to a band who's touring that could fill that slot? If Muse are headlining IOW they could pretty easily play both.

Yes, loads, considering there's no real basis for Adele or Elton whatsoever, TS would be a very unlikely booking, there's not much to back AC/DC and Muse apart from they are playing gigs around that time and Fleetwood Mac and Eavis have both outright said they're not playing.

Foo Fighters seem likely for one slot, there's a chance of the others you mentioned but nothing to strongly suggest any really.

So overall what acts are looking more likely to headline at this moment? would it be safe to assume two out of Foo Fighters, Fleetwood Mac, AC/DC or Muse and one of Taylor Swift, Adele or Elton John? Are there any other acts still a possibility?

I would hope there are still other acts in the 'possibility' bracket.

That isn't a list to get the pulse racing, although AC/DC and Fleetwood Mac would put on good shows.

Hoping the Eavii will pull one rabbit from the hat that hasn't been discussed

The only band right now which is most likely is the Foo Fighters

still at the point where the other two could realistically still surprise us.

The best potential aspect of Foo Fighters headlining could be QOTSA subbing, although I'm not sure if they play together much these days.

I agree that Foo Fighters seem the most likely.

I'd be disappointed with AC/DC or Muse, neither of which I have the faintest interest in whatsoever.

I can't see Elton there except perhaps if all else fails on the Sunday - he's in that weird sort of half-way between headliner and legend status at the moment, so a headliner position just feels unlikely to me.

Adele simply doesn't deserve a headline slot at this point, certainly compared to more active acts with more recent releases.

Fleetwood Mac would be terrific but seem very unlikely now.

Taylor Swift would be excellent, as far as I'm concerned. I think battle lines have been drawn on that one!

We've stopped talking about Kanye West here, but his new album is supposed to be both imminent and excellent. Could he?

would rather him than any of the others you mention. At least there would be a bit of a a buzz if he was announced.

The others would be announced, play then be forgotten without a whimper.

(He would still be shit though xD )

Only one I'm seriously bothered about is ACDC. I'd be all over that.

Elton has the songs, but his voice is shot. 10 years ago, I'd have definitely him, now probably not. However he is a genuine legend..... maybe I'd watch him.

Foo Fighters - meh

MUSE - Seen them enough. Even seen them on the pyramid. I'd be somewhere else.

Swift - For the sake of diversity, I hope she plays, but I wouldn't be watching her.

Fleetwood Mac - I only know a few tunes. The hits. I do like quite some and maybe I'd see them, but not too fussed.

Adele - Not my thing, a different league to Taylor Swift in my opinion. As a headliner I probably wouldn't bother, but I'd see her if she was on earlier (which she is too big to)

The headliners don't matter that much anyway....

I'll still be checking all winter to hear rumours of who they will be though!!
