There's a compelling synchronicity to all this.

- Third headliner to be announced June 1.

- Prince supposedly due in London in June.

- Taylor Swift and Paul McCartney mooted as headliners, both in UK in June.

It's almost like the names being thrown around are often people who are in the country and touring at the same time as the festival. Wild.

- Chris Martin supposedly working behind the scenes, organising things, also assuming a 15-year-long curatorship of Global Citizen festival.

- All of Emily and Michael Eavis's pronouncements so far "(third headliner is huge; two headliners; he's British, the band isn't; it's not Coldplay etc etc)"

- Glastonbury's long association with Greenpeace and climate change issues.

- Special GuestS (plural) on the poster.

- Pyramid field extended for extra capacity, as with the Stones.

- 30th anniversary of Live Aid (ok, that's a bit tenuous, but some people like anniversaries).

I've started discounting any hopes of Blur, Fleetwood Mac or Stone Roses. It looks more like we might be getting something totally new as far as Glastonbury headliners go.

Camped in Row Mead last year it's been like that since the Stones played so I would not read too much into that.

Honestly, I've heard second hand on here that Sting is busy in Europe on the Sunday, but I need to see it myself now to convince me it isn't him and Paul Simon. God knows it'd be a strong booking, whether I'd want to see it or not,

edit: Okay, he's definitely playing in Norway that night.

Imagine if Muse were playing a different day at Rock Werchter. We'd all be 100% convinced it was them, and they couldn't be announced due to Download, and then we'd be hit with an announcement of Chris Martin, Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Paul McCartney, Prince, Taylor Swift and Noel Gallagher playing Nevermind in full to close the Pyramid Stage. We'd break.

Edit: Followed by No Doubt.

I can't work out whether I'd prefer a good, tight set by a good band along the lines of an Arcade Fire or Blur... or whether I'd prefer a super-group shambles.

I think, on balance, given the fact that I'm generally shaking and close to tears throughout the Sunday anyway, a shambolic supergroup might be preferable.

"I'm not going to buy a Blur ticket because Damon is taking part in a supergroup organised by Chris Martin at Glastonbury"

I was thinking more of Taylor swift, madonna etc... Artists who are solo and have other shows.

Fuck maybe that's where the Taylor swift rumour is from... She's one of the members?

I'm officially shutting up now.
