I've just realised...an answer to a question that's been bugging me.

When asked if the 2 bands were British he said most likely.

This confused me cause I'd have thought he'd know who was booked up by now.

It's just clicked that this suggests one (or both) of the acts is solo, he knows who the act is, but he's not totally sure they use a British band, though he thinks it's most likely they do (so probably a British solo act that uses a band)

Becoming increasingly convinced tonight that if the Sunday headliner is some weird supergroup type thing that it's going to turn out to be a complete clusterfuck and we'll be looking back in a few years, shaking our heads and reminiscing about that mad Sunday night......"what on earth were they thinking??!!!"

From thinking that the delayed Sunday announcement was because of an 'exclusive' elsewhere or a massive act protecting their ticket sales, it's now developing into an air of desperation and something that's being thrown together at that last minute.

I've just seen a trailer for Roger Waters new The Wall tour film coming out in September. Tickets go on sale June 19th. He also has a new version of his Amused To Death about to come out. Gilmour has a tour in the Autumn. Lots going on in the Floyd world.......

Amused to death is a favourite of mine, just a great piece of recorded work to listen to on a really good setup filled with moments that just make you smile. I'm really pleased to see it getting some love.

Absolutely - but where's the fun in that?

ha none whatsoever ! So if we're continuing down the fantasy super group path, what would be people's ultimate (still alive) line up? mine would be Ringo drums, Brian Wilson keyboards/vocals, Jonny Marr & Pete Townsend lead / rhythm, van Morrison vocals and everything else. Also sharing vocals Joan Armatrading and Alicia Keys. A bit mainstream I know, but hey if it ain't broken...

So I've not been able to get on here for 24 hours or so ..... And it's taken ages to catch up to date by skim reading since approx 7 yesterday eve!!!!

I'm slightly amused by my wife being referred to as 'the lady on Facebook' who was speaking to MIchael last night!!

BUT I can absolutely 100% verify everything that Michael is quoted as saying cos I was also there with my wife when it was said. We were standing next to Michael when he said it. !

Now whether what Michael said turns out to actually turn into any reality .... Of course we've no idea. But he caused some genuine excitement at the V&A last night and was incredibly humble and grateful that we all show so much interest in his festival.

At one point I said to him that he was a legend. He simply turned and replied ' really? Do you think so .... That's really nice of you. Thank you'

Although I know what he said yesterday eve is absolutely genuine ... I really don't care who it turns out to be. Knowing the Eavis are just happy that we all love the festival and want to go every year is enough for me.

Anyway. Me and 'the lady on Facebook' can't wait to get there in June now and to see you all there too!! 61 days.....

Woohoo!

Or could be something that's been in the works for months.

And be a Glasto moment talked about for years to come if they get the right artists and don't go overboard with it

But it does all seem a bit far fetched and we'll be back to swifty/blur/mac/McCartney simplicity soon enough.

-3rd Headliner(s) is still not announced on the Sunday of the Festival.

-efestivals is rife with talk of Bowie on site.

-Sunday night, Bowie is seen at the side of the stage. Everyone is so happy until...

-Bowie joins the applause...

-Enter Metallica again. Lou Reed's hologram rises out of the ground.

-Lulu in full.

-Everyone finally gets Lulu.

Maybe it'll be the British national interpretive dance troupe (BNIDT) acting out the rise, fall, capture and trial of saddam Hussein.

Fits in with the BNIDT's tour schedule and it's not everyday you get an offer to perform from them.

(Also although a British troupe, a lot of the members are from various soviet states which could verify the comments about they use to be British but not all)

I think ME's use of 'most likely' is probably the most telling of the clues he gave. If that's true, that he doesn't know for sure, it means they're scrambling at the eleventh hour, probably due to some kind of cancellation or unexpected turn of events. That's complete speculation obviously, but unless he was being coy and deliberately secretive, it does seem like they're still sorting it out.

Also interesting he said the announcement will be 'a big one'. I took that to mean 'not Blur'. I agree with whoever said that it sounds like some kind of collaboration may be in the works and that doesn't fill me with hope. If the Chems are on elsewhere, I almost certainly won't be there to see it anyway, but I do care about who it is. I just hope it isn't Bono, Martin, Sheeran etc. - a smorgasbord of bland, even in the name of a well-deserving charity, wouldn't excite me at all.

If the Chris Martin-involved "supergroup" rumours are true, I just hope it's not some preachy Live Aid/End Poverty Now love-in where the members masquerade themselves behind a facade of righteousness while the world looks on and applauds them for being so great to give up their time for a noble cause. My view is a little cynical, that where these people are concerned there's no such thing as a selfless act.

Not that I have anything against the positive messages they promote, Sunday night live on BBC across the world is the perfect forum to reinforce awareness of the issues in society right now, and although I try to do my bit for the planet and those living on it as much as I can, for five days I just want to forget about the problems of the outside world, without a video skit between each song of Bono telling us about the injustices at Guantanamo Bay or Midge Ure warning us of the increase in teenage ISIS recruitment y'know? It's selfish I appreciate, but the whole idea of it makes me a little uncomfortable.

That said, sounds like it's going to be a really interesting concept, something original, never done at a festival before. Could be a stroke of genius, could be an absolute train wreck. Might just be worth being there to see which it is...

Jesus, the forum has gone in to meltdown!

Anyway, Chris Martin has been helping the festival with talks with The Stone Roses and they will be announced on 1 June 2015. the Stone Roses have all been growing long grey beards in Michael Eavis honour, respecting that he has wanted them to play for the past 20 years since they had to pull out.

Mike99 always knew.......
