I don't think it would be Oasis. Noel is in the middle of HFBs shows.

So, if it's something around Noel and Liam, I'd guess it would be Liam guesting for a few songs with HFB's.

I presume no one has managed to find the claimed show in Austria for the Sunday?

The Austria thing was a joke and his way of saying he wasn't playing.

That was a joke. He said something like "Nah I'll be playing Kazakhstan that night for more money".

There's no reason not to announce him til June either.

or a way of putting people off the trail? All talk of HFBs doing it died off that back of that.

He's headlining Latitude. If he was playing Glastonbury as well, then I can't see Melvin allowing him to be announced with everything else as it would dent the Latitude sales.

He certainly fits the "other shows" bit, which I know is the reason for the June announcement.

its not about being sceptical, its about fitting the info we have with an act available

the info we have might be completely wrong!

Exactly. I've just disproved 2 bits of the 'info' there, and the rest is pretty flimsy based on something Michael apparently said which, lets be honest, doesn't make sense. If it's two bands they can't be "most likely" British.

there definitely is. He's playing "other shows" (Latitude & T in the Park), which I know is the reason why it'll be announced in June.

It might not be Noel but it does seem to fit, unless anyone can knock it down? (go ahead, I've thrown this out here to see how well it might stand up)

DAILY EXPRESS:

"When we asked whom we might expect on the famous stage on the Sunday, he told us: “It is going to be two British bands.” We had to ask whether they are going to be headlining separately, to which he replied. “No! They will be joining forces – that’s not been done really.”

So it absolutely is a joint gig. They think it is OASIS

GLASTONBURY founder Michael Eavis has added further fuel to the fire regarding Oasis reunion rumours http://www.express.co.uk/entertainment/music/572379/Michael-Eavis-Glastonbury-Oasis

Maybe, every time he was asked about Glastonbury up until that point he said he'd like to play but wasn't sure yet, that was the first time he ruled it out. I think his Calling Festival gig would be more likely to delay an announcement than Latitude anyway.

I'm not sure when/why Chris Martin would be involved though.

Oasis wouldn't be a joining of two bands tho.

Sales are over for Glasto now. They can't make a dent in any other festival's tickets. Why delay until June?

Is a Roger Waters / Pink Floyd slot completely off the cards?

Beady Eye and High Flying Birds.

Eavis has a history of telling lies about line-up stuff and being cryptic. He also knows how to tease.

Or as has been suggested, Noel's band with a Liam encore, rather than Oasis themselves, so its a mix of high flying birds and oasis

Clapham Common, T and Latitude all having tickets left does put Noel into the picture for sure.

They can if a glasto goer is considering going to latitude specifically to see Noel as he isn't on this bill. Still don't think its anything to do with Oasis though. no chance.

As the other festivals are not sold out

... but that makes no sense. You can't get a Glasto ticket now, so if you want to watch Noel you HAVE to go to one of the other festivals. How would announcing now possibly affect ticket sales of the other festivals?

What I find odd is how we can seriously consider a forced joining of bands headlining Glastonbury. Surely the headliner needs to be something more practiced; something more established. While I'm not ruling out the possibility of NGHFB featuring Liam, or NGHFB featuring Damon Albarn, or something ... I still think its more likely that Eavis is doing his usual job of throwing us off the scent. Haven't we learnt not to trust his words?

Likelihood -

1. Blur

2. Fleetwood mac

3. NGHFB featuring Liam or Damon.
