It doesn't rule them out - it just shows that they are probably doing massive shows and not festivals.

Go over to the AC/DC thread, apparently they've been making stage demands again. This is why them having their own shows makes them less likely...

In which case they were never in the running because any suggestion that they were going to tour the new album at festivals only would be ludicrous.

The stage demands is certainly a more realistic reason to rule them out than big shows.

What I think he means is it's becoming increasingly apparent they're doing their own big shows instead of festivals (not as well as) and that's because of money and stage demands.

Or that's what I mean and he can agree if he likes.

well considering that only this morning someone was suggesting that the stage demands were because of Young's dementia, given that he's no longer with them, they shouldn't be any issue any more.

It's in the other thread, but the organiser of Hellfest seems to suggest they want a central stage. Which for me indicates Wembley or nothing.

So overall what acts are looking more likely to headline at this moment? would it be safe to assume two out of Foo Fighters, Fleetwood Mac, AC/DC or Muse and one of Taylor Swift, Adele or Elton John? Are there any other acts still a possibility?

no, as Taylor Swfit is unlikely, and Adele, who hates festivals and hasn't played an outdoor stage in god knows how long, is even less likely.

Fair play if the stage issue is still an issue. As already said, circumstances have changed though.

I'm heavily biased but... We'll only play Hellfest with a centre stage is a very different demand to We'll only play Glastonbury with a centre stage. Reputation of the festival could help here?
