Whoever it is that's joining forces needs to actually have time to rehearse for it. So it won't be someone in the middle of a hectic tour.

But if - say - it was Liam turning up to sing a few Oasis songs, what rehearsing would it actually need, really? (Most of) The band might need to learn a few new songs, but Liam would just have to turn up and sing.

I don't see that as impossible.

Fleetwood Mac + Buckingham and Nicks

- most likely described as British/"he's british but the band aren't"* *aren't totally

- "this announcement will be the big one"

- IoW tickets to sell

- "you'll never one-up Glastonbury"

- "their manager is a very nice man"

- bristol tour dates

- some other extreme straw-clutching reasons

If that is the case, it should just be an OASIS gig. Which would probably be pretty good. Although the last time I saw them play the Pyramid in 2004, they were awful.

I really really REALLY think you should ignore that first quote of Michael's. It was made at the end of last year's festival, and the words he's says then are very often proven wrong by later events.

This is so bizarre. A joining of forces for Glastonbury headliner? Its too sporadic for me to think it likely. No-one would have believed it even just 1 week ago.

But if Michael said so id say it's very likely. It's more definitive and much closer to the festival than the previous comments.

Plus I'm sure Efests Scot heard it was two bands before this came out but dismissed it as not believable (can't remember actual quote)

True, meaning we can't ignore it. But still, Im suspicious ... cos he says so much untruth. And he especially would want to throw people off the scent when its an act he doesn't wanna reveal til June!

Plus - it's mental! A hodgepodge headliner!! Who knows if it will even work!!!

Edit - unless its Liam joining the end of NGHFB for some Oasis songs or somert tried and tested.

Tell that to the Roses fans

To be fair, there are not many artists around today producing anything as remotely as good as that 1st Roses album. It is no wonder people still pine for them.

Roses are an 80s band

The Roses are a great band

DAILY EXPRESS:

"When we asked whom we might expect on the famous stage on the Sunday, he told us: “It is going to be two British bands.” We had to ask whether they are going to be headlining separately, to which he replied. “No! They will be joining forces – that’s not been done really.”

So it absolutely is a joint gig. They think it is OASIS

GLASTONBURY founder Michael Eavis has added further fuel to the fire regarding Oasis reunion rumours http://www.express.co.uk/entertainment/music/572379/Michael-Eavis-Glastonbury-Oasis

It is a joint Happy Mondays and Black Grape collaboration with the right honourable MP for Eccles and Salford Mark BEZ Berry.

I love some of the logic that goes on in here.

Damon and Noel share a stage for ONE song, TWO years ago at a charity gig when neither Blur or Oasis were active....and on the basis of Eavis's 'two bands' comment, we're speculating Oasis and Blur playing together.

Desperate times for the rumour mill. If it's in the Express, S*n or Star then it's just a waste of time.

I don't know, and I'm not going to get hung up over which it was.

I wish I'd managed to hear what Emily said when I asked her, but I didn't. :(

Do you think there's any connection between the Coldplay story you heard way back when and the Chris Martin thing now? Are they just coincidental but separate 'rumours' or do you now think that perhaps the Coldplay rumour was in the right ballpark but actually they'd perhaps heard Chris Martin doing something and assumed Coldplay?

Trouble is what other 2 bands who could play together and headline are playing this summer and are free on the Sunday.

Not many options to go with
