Sounds to me that it's all pointing to Taylor Swift subbing a VERY BIG band. When Michael says it's going to be big he is anticipating people pressed up against his patio doors.I'm still thinking Floyd.

Crikey, I've been trying to keep up with this thread over the last few days but am struggling to stay on the ball. Stupidly went to N Devon for a lovely surf today and on returning home have found that I've been left way behind. Cracking day surfing btw :) .

SO, anyone who is online most of the time and following this and not completely and barking mad yet fancy posting a précis of the salient points of this tsunami maybe every six hours or so? Would help me out enormously and I will feed you beers etc at the end of June. Cheers.

Michael Eavis - hinted at two bands playing together with Chris Martin involved

Someone found out Chris Martin wasn't playing but could be helping organise

Every thought it was a charity mega group

Emily Eavis said its a band and a strong sub and her dad was talking shit again

People tending to think the strong sub is not a band based on that statement so possibly Taylor Swift

Headlining band could be blur, fleet wood Mac, anyone really some think british but that could all be bollocks as well

Hope that helps

You can argue against but all of this works out.

I don't disagree with much of that but it can always change so no need to be so certain. Either way Van Morrison is 3rd down Saturday and I would be absolutely stunned if The Fall played the Pyramid again. Also can see MJB headlining West Holts as she's not 3rd down Sunday's Pyramid.

Thank you, exactly the type of answer I was hoping for. If you are a regular follower of this thread it would be invaluable if you were able to post like that a couple of times a day. My missus is a multi media artist and I'll get her to make you an enamel badge with 'Headliners Thread Prefect' on it if you like.....You'll deserve it! :) Thanks.

John why is it a ridiculous comment. From a quick browse it seems Noel 1st solo album outsold the previous 2 Blur albums combined (not counting the greatest hits).

Now Noel has sold out 2 arena tours. When I went to see blur in 09, they did not sell out.

Now I prefer Blurs stuff to Noels solo stuff. But I do not think it is a ridiculous comment to suggest Noel should play above Blur. Why should Blur play above Noel?

Martin I am really sorry to hear about your mother. I am sure you have all our sympathies on here at what must be a difficult time.

Glastonbury headliners aren't decided by record sales to cretins.

Noel Gallaghers last 2 records outsold David bowies last 2. Bowie to sub Noel?

what could potentially be that big? led zep reunion? floyd? anything else?

Or, more realistically, could be Blur. It's nice that Emily has clarified things, but she's hardly going to say 'Oh, the headliner is alright, I guess. I think the sub has a decent tune or two'.

I feel its best to realise that her words don't mean the festival have finally managed one of their hallowed super-bookings. She is the second face of the festival and it's her job to big it up.

Apparently so, I didn't even realise I had liked them on Facebook! Used to quite like their first album mind you when it came out.

Likewise, I remember their second album being quite disappointing. I think 2/3 of the band left at that pont, the frontman must have been a dick.
