Anybody think it could be the Kinks? I know the rumours earlier this year were of them reforming but they kind of fizzled away. However, a recent article with Dave Davies suggests after his US tour he'll be back in London to discuss things with Ray:https://artery.wbur.org/2014/11/16/dave-davies

They fit the "been around for a while" clue by Eavis, although I must admit IF the headliners are already booked its unlikely, as they haven't even begun discussing a reunion yet (apparently). It would be a great headliner IMO, one of the biggest bands from these shores.

Think I've seen the possibility thrown in before.

Certainly they're big enough.

Either The Kinks or ELO could take the slot of a retro headliner if Fleetwood Mac aren't playing

Its not going to happen unless Dave and Mick Avory sort out their differences. Which doesn't look likely unfortunately.

And even then they're not road-tested / blooded at a headliner or stadium level. They've got the tunes, but whether they've got the show is another matter entirely.

Yeah good point. Having seen Ray when he played in '10, I can't imagine a Kinks show being hugely different to that. As superb as he was, I'm not sure that would have worked all that well as a headline show. Also, is it just me, or does nobody really care that much about Dave n Mick being there, Ray's the one we want to see?

So, just Ray Davies again instead of The Kinks?

that definitely won't be happening. The Who will be in the middle of their tour.

The who finish their tour the Friday of glasto at bst.

Admittedly that could hamper rehearsals.

Only need one of the Who and they had rehearsed for this years cancelled tour........ Who know Who the friends might be!!?

and I can dream, can't I :-)

As long as Wilko is there somewhere I will be happy.

The Kinks would be absolutely incredible! Lola, Waterloo Sunset, Sunny afternoon and You really got me are belters I would love see live.

Have anybody seen Sunny Afternoon at The Harold Pinter Theatre in London?

I did and was a quality production and just a great fun night !

Highly recommended to all you Kinks gurus.

Hard to predict now that a reasonable amount of doubt has been stacked on some of the longer-running rumours and European fests all seem to just be announcing Muse or Foo Fighters. Maybe now nobody is expecting it it's going to be Prince. :P

Muse and Prince at Glasto in one weekend would destroy me. I'd see Foo Fighters probably, but if Prince and Muse were there I couldn't give a fuck at all.

Don't give me any hope. I'd absolutely love it if Prince was there. The koko gig is my all time favourite gig

They headlined the Saturday in 1993, were OK, absolutley loved Ray in the acoustic tent in 2009, couldn't hear him for the crowd singing along, better in my opinion, than on the pyramid in 2010
