Guest
I cant believe every year the festival organizers are able to keep the main acts such a secret. I worked at a very popular record label for work experience during school about a year ago and the amount of people involved in booking travel, accommodation and events is crazy. cant believe one of them doesn't spill the beans. hamishrankin
Can I just ask a question please. Why would Chris Martin want to collaborate with anyone but his band? They seem like a tight unit to me, I haven't read that they have had a falling out, and regardless of whether he's your cup of tea or not, he doesn't seem to be your normal egotistical front man ala Bono or Liam Gallagher. so if he is going to play Glasto surely it's going to be with Coldplay? And perhaps a special guest / friend? Not sure who though. So to sum up - 3rd headliner is Coldplay and possibly special guest(s) Tight unit? They just announced their next album will be their last I don't think we could call this a break up but I think they may be bored of what they are doing

They do.......they tell their mate who comes onto these forums and says "My mate who works in the industry says..." and no one believes them because so many other people come on here and make up rubbish for attention
airwaves
IT's obvious why they are holding back on the announcement isn't it!? Emily and Michael are having such a laugh reading all these comments and speculation they are waiting until we get to at least 2500 pages before they confirm anything
Rose-Colored Boy
Yeezy subbed by Pharrell is last years wireless lineup. Glastonbury really going over the top with it's recycling ideasIt's not out of the question that 'Ye only agreed to play one or both fests on the condition of having Pharrell as his penultimate.. Stones did that with Primal Scream iirc.

thewayiam
Why can't they just announce Blur already, I'm so bored of this now. Yeah to be honest, I'm content with the whole Blur/Noel. I like The Roses but not sure now I want it to happen. I've seen them a few times time and it's kind of done. I think we can say both The Roses and Macca are out (didn't expect him anyway). Blur, Noel, Libs in the running. I don't see another. Them two would be a huge announcement purely down to an expected collaboration. T-Mouse
Christ, people are STILL hanging on to the idea that the Stone Roses will record, edit, produce and release a new album, announce new shows, sell the tickets for those shows, rehearse the new songs and the old stuff, play those shows and play Glastonbury? All within the next two months? Its crazy isn't it. But then again... Bob Harrison can't have been lying can he?

Whilst I don't buy it myself, to be fair on those people the rumour is that the work is done in terms of recording and mastering, album release doesn't have to be before glastonbury, and they could easily announce a tour for later in the year and sell tickets between now and then, with glastonbury as the first gig... BUT as I say... I don't believe any of it, except I reckon the album probably is recorded in some form. The problem being that half of the anecdotal evidence surrounds the members being 'spotted' at recording studios etc. - so the theory of it being 'done' is out of the question if true. aidenlangan95
I suggested Foals subbing with the same reasons as the Stone Roses headlining and was told I was being ridiculous (and ended up agreeing) so I'm going to say the stone roses headlining is extremely unlikely just as Foals subbing is. Yeah but the thinking with The Stone Roses is that they're holding back their show announcements until they reveal the album. Foals have already announced shows so no reason to hold back just Glastonbury.
wolfamongwolves
The good people of glastonbury would love it! Blurasis would be a sensational headliner to be fair. I can't see it happening personally! Noel was seen talking on his mobile. Mani in WHSmith,s reading the NME. That's it they must be playing. Spindles
Its crazy isn't it. But then again... Bob Harrison can't have been lying can he? It is crazy, if there is one thing the Stone roses are known for, it is being productive and getting a project together in double quick time. Bob Harrison is never wrong. He's the best connected man in the music industry.
Wooderson
I dont know why really, but I presume it's because a lot of people still associate glastonbury with the glory days of the 90s Track record innit.
MEGABOWL
He did say that yes, I think the top two are out of Blur, The Libs and Noel but I also think The Libs would open Friday if at all. Having played before could still count as Pete and Carl in various ways. I think The Libertines played before. Hang on....off to Wikipedia....yeah they did in 2003 though Doherty wasn't with them Could be them. Half the board expecting Blur and Noel G, we get the Libertines and Kylie. Not unthinkable. ImGonnaLive4eva
This thread is messing with my mind. At first everybody was set on it being Prince, then Madonna had a turn when we all thought she would announce on radio 2, then fleetwood Mac and blur came back into the mix out of nowhere. Now Noel is being mentioned again after we were all certain it wouldn't be him. I really wouldn't be surprised if it's Muse and AC/DC. I don't know what to believe any more. kingcrawler
The sub of Yeezy is Florence. (Have a look in Flo's FB-Event!) Hmm, that's strange. I'm assuming it's a mistake as Pharrell can't play Friday and we know we've still got our Sunday top two to come, meaning Pharrell would have to be 3rd down on Saturday (Van Morrison) or Sunday (which is probably Alt-J).
