I wasn't 'pondering' anything, I merely repeated what someone had said to me.

And I also said that other things they'd said to me appear to be wrong, so that info might be too.

As I've commented Neil, Flo would fit in with the rockier act, in terms of act compared to Kanye, not in terms of voice like Foo's etc. I'm in no way saying it's correct but it could of been been presumed Flo would be under Foo's with the guess that Saturday and Sunday sub wasn't her?

Flo wouldn't fit that criteria at all - it'd be a pop headliner vs a pop Other headliner (a huge pop Other headliner at that, which is why it seems so unlikely imo). i doubt the festival have looked at the Kanye petition and thought 'oh god, better give the idiots another huge headliner in case they don't like Kanye!'. it might happen, but it'd be a very odd move if it does

Pharrell headlined arenas last year and is/has subbed every other festival he's played at. i doubt Glastonbury would get him as a third down act (although as was mentioned earlier - them getting him to sub Kanye like Wireless did last year is a pretty lazy move)

edit: i know i said he could be third down on the Sunday a few posts back, but that was just an example of a switcheroo that might've happened, that i didn't believe really would've happened

Glastonburys bigger than other festivals tho. I'd guess he headlines some festivals. He's clearly not a Glastonbury headliner. I'd agree I'd expect him to sub, but I'd also say he's the lower end of sub so I wouldn't Be shocked with him being dropped to third. He could also headline other? Not on the Saturday against Kanye tho, is he only available Saturday?

Glastonbury is bigger, yes, but has a smaller budget (and i imagine an act like Pharrell costs a fair bit). he's a huge sub, definitely not at the lower end of things. and i suppose he could headline Other (think he's free on the Sunday) but Pyramid seems more appropriate really. just the layout of the lineup makes Flo, Pharrell and Alt-J seem like the (current) biggest acts on the Pyramid after the headliners so would be weird if they turned out to be on another stage

It's not that the fact that she's pop dude, so are Foo's etc but they are still rock. She is labelled, yes by Wiki but it still stands and an indie rock act, it's the fact she isn't a controversial booking and I've not said it to counter Kanye's petition, my mentioning of it is purely based on they could have booked this option. If it came in some info Neil got which has proven wrong, it could be, it'd certainly explain the struggle people have had to place Howard lower than another act in sub.

He could but he probably won't, it'll be an ego thing with him and to be honest, for the covers he usually does which is more interesting than his own stuff to be honest, he'd need the sub slot and that extra bit of darker sky would make it better, plus as said there is the Van Morrison in 3rd shout. Personally to add, I don't think he's a massive sub, he's headed arena's that others have and subbed before but he won't be 3rd.

Did anyone hear Jo Wiley on Thursday night? She started off saying about how the BBC will be bringing full coverage of Glastonbury and then she played Brandon Flowers. Afterwards she said if you were a fan of Brandon/Killers then to listen out in a few weeks time when she'd be allowed to tell you some exciting news.

Now it could be they're just playing on Radio 2 however can't see he/they have got anything else on around that time, potential sub?

Brandon solo definitely ain't big enough to sub, and The Killers are headliners or nothing these days. maybe he'll be announced for lower down the lineup, but it's probably not Glastonbury related

He was but he's since played two o2 arena dates. I have to admit the footage seems to lack stage presence. Also that setlist is way too short for what he'll do at Glastonbury I'd imagine, there is only two of his own songs in there. I'd quite like to hear Gust Of Wing. Expecting he'll have around 16 songs.

If the choice between Kanye West and The Mothership Returns isn't enough choice, these are not people worth catering for, if Florence & The Machine is the thing that will sweeten that deal, they shouldn't be permitted entry.

Could TV coverage come into the deal as well? I know bands at the top of the bill usually get coverage anyway but Pharrell could have accepted a 3rd down with the deal of getting maximum tv coverage?

I feel this could be a Paolo Nutini situation like last year - I think we all expected him to be on Pyramid but when he was announced for Other Stage (subbing Skrillex) i think we all were scratching our heads a little bit.

Pharrell, Florence and then Kanye would be very strong and I wouldn't leave Pyramid for that afternoon I don't think.

TV coverage is nothing to do with Glastonbury directly I don't think. I'm fairly sure, although I may be wrong that the festival will agree a slot with the act/their management and any coverage of that set is an agreement between the act and the BBC, Glasto will publish the times still though,

Been away working in distant corners of the globe, and have not checked the forum and bloody come back to find Noel Gallagher is a favourite again, mediocre solo stuff with a couple of exceptions but still better than Kasabian and Mumfords.

It's more to do with that there probably isn't anywhere else really he could go. 3rd down Sat is most likely Van Morrison, as said Paloma, why I don't know isn't likely to be lower than 4th.
