Yep. Bit weird they don't advertise that privilege before you subscribe really, would surely entice people..

I think Neil said it isn't a money spinner for him, as the loss of income from ads cancels out the subscription fee

Might be wrong though

Gah too slow....

I think Neil said that Gold members don't really bring in any more money than people without gold memberships do (due to the adverts), so there's no need to really.

I never knew Gold members could see. I need to cut down on random negging.

I got two down votes for saying Taylor Swift is a stunning looking woman. Why on earth someone would would down vote the personal opinion of someone is beyond my comprehension. I perfectly understand down voting someone for being abusive, racist or totally out of order. But down voting someone for a personal opinion which does not bother anyone is a bit sad.

I haven't read back the last 80 pages (so don't hurt me if this has already been said) but now Taytay's subbing Foo Fighters at Radio 1's Big Weekend, does that maybe make her more likely to sub them on the Friday?

Not really.

Plus, anyone hoping for on the Sunday that is very unlikely as it means she would have to perform four days in a row -- she doesn't do that at all on her entire world tour.

Quite. And there's the report button for the abusive stuff so really the neg function doesn't have much point at all.

One of them from someone with a total of two posts to their name, how unfortunate.

I assumed the down-voting just meant that you disagreed with someone, not that you thought they'd done something wrong or offensive (as you say, you can report them if it really offends you that much). So popular opinions got more ups than downs, and you could see what was 'trending'. Still, not too bothered either way tbh, and a better way to disagree with someone is surely just to post to say so!

I always thought the point of a forum is to debate and discuss. Anonymously down voting someone without having a counter argument makes a forum kind of pointless.

I made a flippant comment a week or so ago, I meant no malice in it. But Couchy pulled me about he. Because he pulled me up about it rather than anonymously down voting me, it made me reflect on it. In hindsight I should never have come out with the comment and I then pm'ed Couchy and apologised for my comment.

Yeah great, that's what it's all about. Call me an old hippy but let's talk, and lose the faceless down-vote culture

:)

If that 'Kenport' fella, who only posted about twice to 'tell us' about R4B being a troll, could kindly man up and have out the issue he has with me that's led to his negs on every third post of mine lately, that'd be great.

With some of the 'clues' given I wonder if Atoms For Peace could appear on the bill? Not headliner but could possibly sub.

They would class as a supergroup. Thom's british but his band aren't and he could be seen as a friend of the festival as well as Chris Martin.

There are also recent photos Thom posted of him going over old song lyrics and art work in the studio.

Dreaming of Led Zep or Floyd or Radiohead to headline

I think this the most likely guess I've seen so far...

Atoms for Peace? not at all. they definitely aren't big enough to sub - sure it has the famous members, but i'd bet that only about 1% (if that) of the crowd could recognise or sing along to one of their songs. could very possibly appear on the bill, but considering Thom's apparently busy with the new Radiohead record, doubtful

Crikey this is the most discussion any of my posts have ever caused.

Can someone tell me who downvoted my Ben Howard thing?

I don't care about getting downvotes if it's something normal, I just don't get why someone would downvote something like that.

Not long ago I got downvoted for saying I was looking forward to something. Weird people.
