The thing that really pisses me off about this is that they've gone for the dosh over the charitable quality Glasto delivers.

Being probably one of the most successful pop groups of all time they probably (definitely) don't need much more cash in the bank, do they ?

I know that people will say, well pop stars are greedy, get over it Will, but I think that they'd actually have been a really good act for the festival.

Considering they were TBC it proves that the Eavii wanted them, and they'd be a great historic Glasto headliner.

Fleetwood have gone down in my opinion after this.

Ac/dc on 6music from 2:20 - http://www.bbc.co.uk...rammes/b04sxmf6

Steve asked, "Any chance of seeing you at Glastonbury Festival one year?"

"At Glastonbury?" (sucks air)

"I don't know, if there's rock and roll there, is there? I don't know, please don't ask me, I'm really not up on it. I thought it was wellies and corporate, I don' know!"

"Metallica played it last year..."
"Who did?"
"Which was a slight surprise when they announced it."
"Metallica, they don't have as many big tunes as you guys. What a Glastonbury headliner needs is a lot of massive tunes, and you've got the lot."
"Yes"

"If they ask... okay"
"just agree."
"If they ask I'll say he sent us, Shaun sent us."
"Here's his card."
"How do you spell Glastonbury? I'll just write that down."

Angus is in the background just saying "Yes!"

Well Mick has been bankrupt before. And they've all had problems with the Gak.

if Florence, Taylor (or hell, even Elton) - a ridiculously un-heavy act - is the third headliner then i don't think it'd be too much of a problem. besides, both AC/DC and Foos are hardly heavy now are they. they have a bit of riffing and shouting but all their songs are pretty big recognisable sing alongs - probably moreso than Metallica. i didn't think they'd have two 'rock' acts together but it doesn't seem too outrageous i guess

Most years they have a few "rock" acts in the headline spots though if we're talking generally. Last year we had Metallica, Arcade Fire and Kasabian. The year before we had Rolling Stones and Arctic Monkeys. I understand there's not actually that much similarity between most of the acts but the same goes for Foo's and AC/DC

Dunno. I didn't think it was an issue until Eavis said that Metallica opened the door for them to book a heavy act this year and made it sound like just one, although he couldn't make it sound like two or else it'd become obvious.

I still think their stage and fees are too much of an obstacle for Glastonbury but I'd prefer them to pretty much all realistic headliners right now despite bemoaning outdated acts earlier! We'll just have to wait and see what the imminent tour announcement throws up.

you know what i meant - acts that could comfortably headline Download / Sonisphere etc, which Foos and AC/DC could / have, and acts like Kasabian, Arctics etc couldn't / haven't. 'hard rock' if you will

and yeah i don't think they'll be there tbh. something just tells me it isn't gonna happen, but despite not liking them personally they're definitely the best of the bunch we seem to be left with at the moment (looking through the rumours - christ i hope at least one of the headliners is a huge surprise as it's looking slightly woeful)

as far as fees etc go, i think the Stones have definitely opened the door for more demanding acts to play. whether Glastonbury wants to constantly give in to these demands is another thing

If AC/DC and Elton John are the two names still in the running, then it's a tough call as to whether to invest in a high quality bespoke meerkat costume or a deluxe velvet naughty schoolboy one.

Or some sort of combination of the two...

Not quite cutting it.

"Ohhhh...if only i 'ad brought my mongoose costume..."

In Madonnas latest knocker shoot and subsequent interview she reveals details of a new 2015 album release. No details of a tour but still a possibility. I imagine the prospect of securing one of the most high profile female artists of all time would be a major coupe for the eavi

Beautiful use of 'coupe' in a post about her 'topless' photoshoot.

Inadvertant typo or not; I salute you!

Thing is, she's not someone to do a vintage set at the best of times, let alone when she's got a new album out. Madonna would be more likely for 2016 IMO off the back of a 2015 work tour.

She would be one of the few acts I would camp out on Pyramid all day for...
