Headliners 2015

Missed the boat on the JW comments but just add my 2cents.

He was one of my most looked forward to acts this year and he really disappointed. His actual show I thought was good (maybe with one too many extended solos) but I didn't think the song choices were good at all.

I'm no way a "just play the singles" guy but I felt there should have been more sixteen salteens, steady as she goes, blue orchid (I can hope).

Part of my excitement for seeing him was due to all the hits and at a festival, especially glastonbury, I feel you need to play those songs.

In my head limp bizkit look at festivals in the right way (and I'm by no means comparing Jack White to limp bizkit). They play the tunes that everyone wants to hear. If they're not headlining (which they aren't) I like that they play all the old stuff some new ones thrown in.

I thought the opposite; the performance was disconnected and not very good but the setlist was very good - which adds to the disappointment. Though I wish Seven Nation Army was played earlier so people in the crowd would maybe stop chanting it.

zero000 has part of it.............................. it just didn't do it for me.......

There also seemed a total lack of atmosphere but obviously I was not there and maybe the rain had something to do with it.

Ears are fine - there was just that 'something' missing for me.

I really enjoyed it and I love his reworkings but I can't disagree about the atmosphere. There was a LOT of chatting going on during the set.

Apart from not hearing “fell in love with a girl” – the setlist was spot on for me. It was the performance which was a let down.

Set list was fine and sound was fine. Makes we worried I was more drunk than I thought, but everyone around me thought it was ace too :/

Could be where I was stood, but I didn't enjoy Jack White at all, biggest regret was going to see him over ESG. I thought he was fucking excellent in Leeds the other week, but was bitterly disappointed at Glastonbury.

We didn't think much of him either so wandered off to see Goldfrapp which ended up being a very good decision as they were excellent!

I see your point. Still doesn't change the fact I didn't enjoy it.

Jack White didn't knock it out of the park in the way that he could have done, but I thought he was pretty good. I liked the setlist, and the sound wasn't terrible where we were standing. I definitely heard worse sound elsewhere during the weekend.

Personally, I think that if he'd sacrificed some of the lesser known White Stripes songs for more off Blunderbuss it would've been a better set.

Yeah but 'hits' are meant to be the ones that non fans know and fans hear most often. The ones the radio play and stuff. Saying that, he did roughly the best he could without making it all TWS material but looking back I didn't realise the complete lack of Raconteurs and Dead Weather stuff.

Me and my mate realised the lack of Raconteurs material. The set was crying out for a Consoler Of The Lonely, Salute Your Solution or Broken Boy Soldiers. Apart from that I quite enjoyed the set from where I was. My mate just thought that Jack White was intentionally trying to come over like a bit of a dick.

Wish I'd gone to see Goldfrapp instead of Jack White. It was a horrific clash and I chose most unwisely. Jack White was one of my few must see's and it was with a heavy heart I chose him above numerous other acts I really wanted to see (think John Grant was another?) Was most disappointed and even though we tried to mooch over to see Goldfrapp we got there just as it ended. Sounded frickin awesome on the way though.

I feel like i shouldn't say anything as it'll be seen a biased. All I'll say is i enjoyed it and everybody that was at the festival with me did also. His recent tour shows were better though.

I think he will and should one day headline the festival again. In his solo capacity, which we could be 2-3 years away from that again depending on what happena with The Dead Weather next year and then hopefully we finally get some new Raconteurs! I've been listening to Brendan Benson a lot again recently so I'm dying for more 'teurs

Didn't you say you saw it from stage side? It was probably alright there - that's where he was facing after all!

I hope The Dead Weather are there but I'm not pinning too much hope on it. Would really want them high up on Other or something though rather than Jack's preferred stage, same as I'd have preferred him this year.
