Take That can drive into a sinkhole when it comes to Glasto obviously, but only a fool wouldn't concede that they've made about an album full of very solid pop tunes over the years (most of them many years ago). There's undoubtedly talent there, but the fit is so utterly wrong, it'd take copious amounts of industrial strength grade A drugs to get even Brian Cox to conceive of a parallel universe in which Take That headlining could remotely happen.

Where has there been any indication the Roses are touring?

There hasnt been any mate. I posted before that based on the fact that they managed to keep their reunion top secret and the fact that no-one is expecting them at Glastonbury then it must be on ;-)

New album then more summer gigs to keep the coin rolling in. As I said last time, I went down to Heaton Park and had a great day on Glasgow Green so I'm still hoping for acdc.

I don't know with just three of them its time to pack it in or GB should go solo

Why would he do that? He couldn't sell a bean during the 10 or so years when no one gave a shit about him or Take That. Cowell did a remarkable job of relaunching him as some sort national treasure, but its all smoke and mirrors, him and his band are as terrible as they always have been.

Nah I don't reckon so. Those Take That albums and tours at the end of the 00's were massive because they were one of the first major reunions, people just got suckered in whether they cared or not. X Factor came while he was around the height of his fame and he could successfully go solo now but I imagine he's earning by far the biggest portion from Take That and that's going well so probably not worth trying it out properly. If they reunited now after Boyzone and whatever other shit then they'd be nowhere near what they are today but that's how it goes sadly.

Take That's reunion was helped by some absolutely belting singles as well. The Circus is also a tremendous album from start to finish. Not heard the new one, but the lead single was pretty bland stuff.

Gary Barlow is a pretty decent songwriter, and no doubt could go on his own for at least a while.

My worry would be that it wouldn't live up to heaton park - and to be fair I can't see how it would - and it would in some way tarnish my memory of that.

This is the problem. At Heaton Park you had 70,000 Roses fans, and it really was a reunion. The show was already gunna be awesome.

At Glasto I feel that the special nature of the Heaton Park shows (especially the Friday one which was unbelievably great to be at) might be lost.

I went to the Friday. It's one of the best gigs I've been to. Probably the best outdoor gig that I have been to. (I'm not counting festivals) - I'll be leaving that memory where it is.

Other than ACDC (which is now very unlikely) and Radiohead (again: it wont be happening) none of the rumours for headliners excite me at all and to be honest, I'm happy with that. Last year Arcade Fire and Metallica were must sees. I was really struggling on the sunday, but decided to see Kasabian.

So the thought of no nights at the Pyramid is not a bad thing.
