dentalplan
The Red Hot Chilli Peppers are threatening to release an album next year. Mensch does manage them. Now the names of acts that we know are touring Europe are dwindling, I'm starting to wonder about Kanye doing it. Can't see him not going through the European fests what with a new album and would be pretty interesting. Not if he's gonna rant though. Ted Dansons Wig
How about a Kinks re-union? Not big enough? For Friday?
Mouseboy11
Not quite sure the Eavii would go for Kanye for some reason. I think he'd absolutely smash it and the Watch The Throne tour is honestly one of the best shows I've seen. He's got an absolutely huge amount of hits too. dentalplan
Would the BBC broadcast a world famous Ye rant? Dunno. Probably not but they don't broadcast completely live anyway so I guess they could chop it out however they liked. The crowd would still be subject to it though and that's the problem, but without it I couldn't think of a more interesting contemporary headliner, despite being a c**t and all that. Bradders
I can't think of many headliners that would actually excite me. You'd be talking Bowie, Daft Punk etc. Kanye is probably the only interesting realistic headliner.
Justiceforcedave
We're only basing this on the headliner sized bands who've announced dates. There is still the possibility of more bands firing up the touring machine.
Sketchead
Kanye would be absolutely mind-blowing and he's one of my favourite artists but quite frankly he's too much of a dickhead and I don't think his rants would be welcome at all. Seen him live around five years ago and then again on the Watch the Throne tour, both were great. Really, really good.
morph100
How often do bands or artists who are not touring pop up just to headline?

Mouseboy11
How often do bands or artists who are not touring pop up just to headline? I imagine it's more likely a British act would do it than a foreign one.
kalifire
Kanye would be absolutely mind-blowing and he's one of my favourite artists but quite frankly he's too much of a dickhead and I don't think his rants would be welcome at all. I'm torn between absolutely gagging for him to headline because I think he's got the potential to be amazing, and not wanting him to play because I don't think I could take him screwing it all up with a stupid rant that loses the audience and ruins his set. Maybe it's the risk that he could genuinely blow it which really makes me want him to play, because he honestly could pull something pretty special out of the bag. bocumaroy
Wouldn't be that arsed if he did a 'rant', really. Probably still be more entertaining than most of the likely headliners.
Rose-Colored Boy
yeah, cos that worked so well for him last time. His last solo album got to number two and produced a top-three single.. have I misunderstood your point? Would the BBC broadcast a world famous Ye rant? Dunno. Probably not but they don't broadcast completely live anyway so I guess they could chop it out however they liked. The crowd would still be subject to it though and that's the problem, but without it I couldn't think of a more interesting contemporary headliner, despite being a c**t and all that. Yeah he didn't want the screens on at Wireless so I don't know why he'd allow the BBC to show him at Glasto. Not that whether the BBC would be able to show a headliner has any impact on who G book, of course.
Zero_Newnab
The BBC were perfectly happy to broadcast Kanye's interview with Zane Lowe, which was pretty nutty. So I doubt they'd have a problem with it, the only question is whether Kanye would have a problem with it. I think he'd be an interesting booking. FuzzyDunlop
Im not a fan of Kanye, it would be an interesting booking. No doubt some people would moan.. I'd just go to another stage. However, I would like to see him have a rant / breakdown / go ape shit (or whatever its called) - just to see the reactions of everyone. dentalplan
Yeah he didn't want the screens on at Wireless so I don't know why he'd allow the BBC to show him at Glasto. Not that whether the BBC would be able to show a headliner has any impact on who G book, of course. Oh. I'd no idea he'd have something against the screens, but he's done and will continue to do live shows on TV. He has to. Does throw up an even bigger problem though that no screens would be a no-go at Glastonbury. Most of the field wouldn't be able to see anything! And if they did some work around like Arctic Monkeys last year it'd be similarly poor. The BBC were perfectly happy to broadcast Kanye's interview with Zane Lowe, which was pretty nutty. So I doubt they'd have a problem with it, the only question is whether Kanye would have a problem with it. I think he'd be an interesting booking. To the mass TV audiences it would be pretty different. They have absolutely no need to broadcast that though so it doesn't matter.

dentalplan
Did they not show Arctics on the screens last year? They did. Just for most of the time there was this horrible four panel thing going on run through a filter so it might as well not have been on because you could barely tell what you were looking at. That rock 'n' roll eh?
