Rihanna's pretty much a nothing experience when it comes to a live show. If she plays, I wouldn't recommend sticking about to watch.

Were there not stories after T in the Park about her " banning " other bands from looking at her back stage ! and she got carried the short walk from her area to the stage. Wasn`t even muddy that year if I remember. Way too much "singing" over a pre-recorded backing tape for my liking. I`m out.

Of what I saw at the Hackney Weekend all she did was sing to the cameras and photographers, remember turning it off after a short time. She's definitely worth looking at but not watching

From what I've seen on TV of her live (admittedly that isn't that much), there is too much stopping and starting to her singing.

Neither are my kind of thing, but Beyonce to me is a proper performer (I was at QOTSA in 2011), but Beyonce as far as I can tell is a league above. Excitement wise, I think Rihanna is a level above her.

Rihanna has a presence about her, she is a headline maker.

Probably more than any headliner in a while.

I wouldn't be watching Rihanna, but she would be a draw

In your attempt to point out that you're heterosexual and she's "well fit wayeyeehhh" you've forgotten that looking at and watching are the same thing.

I meant it to come across as I would actually rather look at her (yes she is fit) rather than watch a performance by her (came across as being up her own arse on the performance I saw), no other meaning was meant and all just an opinion

Not one to spread conjecture(except when helpless hoping for Prince) but my mate who works for a tour booking/logistics agency says he has heard quite alot of chatter at the moment in the biz that Ed Sheeran is being lined up as a headliner.

The way Ed is rocketing higher and higher, I actually wouldn't be overly surprised at this. I'd find it less surprising a headliner than Florence or Taylor Swift, for example. However, previously, has anyone ever headlined the year after playing lower down on the bill? Wouldn't they maybe give at least 1 year's gap?

Sheeran is the kind of artist that should be headlining the Pyramid. a young Brit, in the ascendancy worldwide, selling out Wembley, number one, million selling records. he's Mr Billy Big Bollocks at the moment.

edit - i say "should".. obviously Aphex Twin should also, but we don't live in that world.

yeah, he said that alright, although it probably doesn't count for much really....

i wouldn't go to see him if he was headlining, but he certainly deserves it when you take everything into account.

my ex dragged me to see him in October and although I wouldn't be much of a fan of his music, he did put on a good show.

he could probably get Swift to spin down the road for a guest appearance on that song they have together too...

I really hope people are taking the piss when they speak about ed Sheeran headlining. I know he's big (although I really can't understand why) but surely he would be one of the worst headliners in the festivals history?

Than Mumfords?

He's big enough, fits in with the demographics, played loads. He's a perfect fit and will no doubt headline in the next few years.

He would be absolutely awful, not that mumfords weren't also. Far more talented musicians out there. Manufactured pop nonsense. Just my opinion of course, but surely beavis has a few things lined up to surpass ed bloody Sheeran!

I'd give this opinion more credence if you hadn't just started a Roxette thread.

Don't get the 'manufactured' remark as well. It's not like he's off X Factor or summit. From what I can gather he's done it his own way.
