Nah we can't have dirty AIDS deniers headlining!

Hadn't heard of this before, so I Googled it, if this is real, and not a spoof, he's a horrible man. Tbh, even if it is a spoof, it's still in terrible taste, and he's still a horrible man.

Looks like the drummer is one of those people who is against vaccination, thinks they "cause autism" and other such bollocks, I seriously thought those people only existed as joke targets in the retro science textbooks we had in school, it's bewildering that this grown man carries this belief with him to this day.

Besides, if someone's PR profile was a key factor in whether they'd make a good Glasto headliner then you'd just end up with Dave Grohl headlining every night of every year and surely not even diehard Foo fans would want that.

Having said this, on reflection if the organisers truly won't return Gary Barlow's calls, and that claim wasn't just GB being facetious, then perhaps there *is* a moral line that you can't cross if you want to be booked for Glasto. Either way though, if Metallica's hunting passions didn't cross said line then Madonna's publicity stunts wouldn't either.

I've found the chap's name as Taylor Hawkins, so whichever instrument he played. Looks like he's well into it, the fucking arsehat.

He's the drummer and yes he does very much hold those views. It's been a while since Dave said anything either way about AIDS though so nobody really knows whether DG still holds his views in this more informed age.

I'm pretty sure the whole band withdrew their support for Alive and Well back in 2008(ish).

Their offish website linked to it as recently as 2012. In any case, quietly withdrawing your public support for a batshit crazy cause, which is at best insensitive and offensive, and at worst really fucking dangerous, doesn't make up for well over a decade of supporting, funding and spreading this shite.

The bassist is the AIDS nutter and Taylor Hawkins (the drummer) is the anti vaccination nutter.

Still if we're banning the anti vaccination lot the greenfields will be decimated. :P

:D I dare you to bear a grudge against those greenfields geeks, if they ran the world, it'd be a better place (either that or we'd all die of smallpox, mumps and meningitis).

Found this in a Reddit thread on the whole Grohl/AIDS thing. It's one thing to put yourself in danger but to indirectly kill your own child through your own stupidity. Fuck sake.

"The author of the book, Christine Maggiore (seen canoodling with Dave Grohl in the video, and on-stage at their benefit concert for the ironically named "Alive & Well") has since died of AIDS. So has her untreated 3 year old daughter Eliza Jane, who was breastfed by her mother. Breastfeeding is a common HIV transmission method, especially in the absence of antiretroviral drugs."

I saw that as well, one of the reasons that I'm still not 100% convinced this is some sort of spoof they did for a comedy show that grubby armpits of the internet have doctored to make it seem real, the whole thing seems to be a bit too ridiculous to be true.

Screaming Flo's album 3 is in it's final mixing stage

Doesn't really change anything since her playing RW on the Thursday of Glastonbury was already announced.

I think I'm right in saying that she's not headlining Rock Werchter, right? I am struggling to see why people think she is big enough to headline Glastonbury.

I remember the same sort of talk with mumford before 2013's festival. Sometimes a headliner doesn't seem like a headliner 6 months before the festival.

Her fanbase have been dormant for about a year, trust me when she releases new stuff you'l see how much of a following she has.

The only reason she seems like a weak headliner is because nothing has been released yet.

Kasabian have headlined a lot of big festivals in the past. Has Flo?

You can argue they're not big but she's headlined Latitude and bestival. Another album and a step-up is hardly out of the question. I don't believe mumfords, beyonce, the kings of leon and muse for example had headlined any of the biggest uk fests when they stepped up.

Doesn't mean it will be good but it won't be surprising.

I guess all these Flo fans hang out in different circles to me. I heard lots of praise for Kings Of Leon, Muse, Beyoncé and Mumford over the years, including their earlier years, but I almost never hear the same for Flo.

Because she isn't quite on the same level as those acts, but that doesn't discard her as a headliner. With new material and blatant radio 1 backage you'l look back on this and try to remember the time where she didn't seem like a headliner.

I admit I was sceptical too, but looking at the likelyhood of headliners and one potentially being a step up headliner. I think Flo is probably the one to fit that category. Her also having a date on the Thursday of glastonbury is enough said, I'd be surprised now if it didn't happen.
