Contacted paddy power for a price for Florence to headline the Saturday night, 10/1 available? Must be worth an interest at that price

They've added her in at 5/1 now, so a few people must have asked about her. There's a couple of others like Pharrell who I don't think were there before either.

I had scrubbed up some of the 10/1 this afternoon, I'm not sure Saturday is the right day but was definitely worth an interest at that price

Yeah I'd have considered it at 10/1 but definitely not 5/1. As you say, not sure she'll do Saturday but worth it for those odds. I did the same for Foo's to headline Sunday when they were 14/1, don't think they'll play that day but worth a shot.

Definitely worth the interest, they've added in, god help us, take that at 25/1? Little too big a price for me as much I hope it doesn't happen

Bizarre odds here. I'd say most of the ones between 16/1 and 25/1 are more likely than the ones between 8/1 and 12/1.

Agreed I don't know who the hell they've tasked with compiling the odds, but they haven't done a great deal of research

Well I don't entirely know how odds are done but I'd have thought they'd want the more outlandish punts that people would put on like Oasis to look more profitable. I dunno though. All the better for us that hang around for info I suppose.

They'll have tasked people to find out who's most likely, has obvious ones people would want to bet like kate bush, prince as you said oasis just to get money flowing, foo fighters and ACDC are obvious favourites just due to the media talk, it doesn't take a lot of money off the right people for them to slash the odds on markets like this

I just for the life of me can't realistically envisage Elton John headlining the Pyramid.

Even more so if they've got AC/DC. Would surely be a pop act.

I'm hoping all the non-hyperbole about Prince this year is a good sign.

I really don't buy this thing about Foos not playing Saturday. Didn't Emily just say something like "All the rumours are wrong"? Just sounds like general brushing off the question to me.

Yeah that's what I thought but Neil seems quite adamant about it.

she specifically said something like 'people keep guessing that the Saturday headliner is Fleetwood Mac or Foo Fighters, which is totally wrong' (or something to that effect - i'm sure somebody will be able to find the actual quote) - basically making it seem like those two bands were possibly playing, just not the Saturday

They don't need to do much research (and so probably haven't). As always, the odds will be largely based on where the money is going - If Kate Bush is 8/1 and the Elton is 16/1, it's because more cash is being placed on Kate Bush at the moment.

Those odds will change very rapidly if any significant bets start getting placed on a particular act.

I still keep thinking, as we know as little as ever about who's headlining, there really could be someone completely out the blue that hasn't been talked about or considered playing this year

What I really love in all of this is that Neil etc are quiet - which I take as meaning there is nothing, not even a whisper.

For me not knowing just ramps up the excitement and I really could not care less if I know when I pay the balance off in April.

correct at this moment, tho there's also a lack of interest on my part to pass on some of what i'm hearing.

A big part of that nothing is agents still being on holiday; they think hard work is working 50% of the time of the rest of us. When they're back working next week the info flow is likely to increase.

But anyway, who needs to know anything more? Biggles Wartime Band are definitely there again, so good entertainment is guaranteed.
