I believe Morrissey changed his tour dates in 2011 to accommodate the slot he played. Feel free to correct me though.

Lol sorry, was just pointing out something they had in common. I love the musical heritage of Manchester. For a good 20 odd year period it produced some fantastic music. Unfortunately the music scene seems to be dead now in Manchester and extremely bland.

I am not too keen on the place itself though any more .

Yeah, I agree that it seems on its arse now, but I'm too young to have ever known it any other way. I don't know of any sort of local scene for bands that isn't too watered down with arsehole posers, and with the exception of Band On The Wall, the dance scene has always had too much of a sinister undercurrent for me.

I could see The Libertines possibly headlining with Flo subbing(or vice versa) as I think her manager is massive fan of the band.

In terms of venues for bands passing through, Manchester's quite probably the best place to be outside of that London. There's loads of variety, always stuff going on, some great spaces for bands to play in (The Albert Hall being one of the best at the moment). But for talent from Manchester, I'm really not impressed by a lot that goes on. There's a big scene for DJs and club nights, but I've rarely been to club nights around here that have a nice vibe.
