The quote's in the article there.

To me a long time means someone older than Foo Fighters and I imagine it's the same for Michael.

yeah i agree. hopefully this means that Foos aren't the 'biggie' of this year, as that'd be a bit of a disappointment. active in the 80's and beyond is what i'd consider 'a long time'

I am at the stage now where I have decided that as long as Hot Chip are on then anything else I like is a bonus.

I have given up on Depeche Mode, New Order and Stone Roses.

I wouldn't rule New Order out, there's a new album on the way isn't there? Think it's coming out towards the back end of the year though

if Stone Roses was gonna happen it should've been when they reformed (which was unfortunately during the fallow year) so yeah, i don't see it ever happening (which i'm indifferent about - the thought of them headlining never particularly excited me, and christ knows if they're even still together)

the 'been together a long time' thing just leads me straight back to AC/DC

Hahaha forgot about that bit.

I went the Saturday, they blew me away to be honest. Thought they'd be garbage but, for the main, they sounded spot on

I'd give anything to see them on the Pyramid but I'm not sure what's happening with them

I went on the Friday and it's probably still one of the best gigs I've been to, though a fair bit of that was the atmosphere as much as anything. Saw them at TITP and Glasgow Green as well and it was good, but nowhere near as good as Heaton Park. Got no interest in seeing them again really.

The atmosphere that friday really was sonething else.

I remember during "I wanna be adored" it was a wall of noise... From the crowd. I couldnt hear the band for 2 mins. Just singing from the fans.

Special.

Acdc surely...

seem to be unable/unwilling to do 2 nights in a row in the same city, let alone do 2 nights in a row which involve travel between cities/countries. certainly can't see them putting Brian's voice on TV the night after playing in Germany.

playing the Saturday at Glastonbury and then Sunday in Scotland is mildly less unlikely, but still pretty far fetched considering their tour.

they would have built a gap into their tour if they were going to do Glastonbury.

I went the Saturday. I can't remember anything although I am told it was mint and I was apparently a right mess.

AC/DC strike me as the only band really applicable to the "used to be british but now they aren't" and the Peter Mensch thing.

likewise, although we all know how much Michael likes to jump the gun so there's a good chance they were lined up to play but it all fell through. all of the hints seem to point to them but the 'no two tour dates in a row' thing is just too hard to ignore

Saw Queen + Adam Lambert tonight. Actually thought it would be rubbish (wouldn't have paid for a ticket, but my dad wanted to go and bought me one), but fuck me it was great. Spent the gig thinking how I couldn't imagine anything else being more fun on the Pyramid. The performance actually dropped so much when Lambert wasn't on stage. I want them to headline, now. Sorry guys.
