Saw Queen + Adam Lambert tonight. Actually thought it would be rubbish (wouldn't have paid for a ticket, but my dad wanted to go and bought me one), but fuck me it was great. Spent the gig thinking how I couldn't imagine anything else being more fun on the Pyramid. The performance actually dropped so much when Lambert wasn't on stage. I want them to headline, now. Sorry guys.

Someone who went recently told me Lambert is like "an even camper Mercury". Sounds good to me!

Agreed. I think the current female acts "big" enough to headline are your Taylor Swift/Rihanna/Katy Perry/Lady Gaga type acts... None of whom are really Pyramid Headliner material because their target market is teenage girls.

Plus not being funny but even if I was as big as one of those mentioned above, I don't think I'd want to be the first solo female artist to follow Beyonce...

Not being funny, but I imagine all but us Glasto nerds and Beyonce super fans have already forgotten that she even headlined.

Yeah i'd say to someone of michael eavis age, and having been involved in the music business for as long as he has, foo fighters wouldn't qualify as having been around for a long time. I'd say there is every possibility he was walking about acdc at the time... whether they will actually play may be another issue...

Peter Mensch hasn't managed AC/DC for decades

I think Michael meant Fleetwood Mac, and that things fell through after Michael said what he did

Fleetwood Mac have been around 50 years, their lead singer is British, so fits the criteria

AC/DC exceptionally unlikely owing to Glasgow gig on the Sunday and German gig on the Thursday, and Brian Johnson not wanting to perform on consecutive nights

As Friday night seems to be the alternative Pyramid headline night and with Bjork announcing a new album out on march then possibly she could be the Friday night headliner? I know peeps will say the usual, not big enough fan base etc etc, not suited to pyramid and should be on Other etc etc, but she's done that already albeit 2007 , personally I think that's tosh, if Arcade fire can headline the Pyramid then Bjork definitely can. I could happen peeps, mark my words.

They probably have plenty more options then resulting to Bjork. There's also plenty of bands much bigger and likelier than Bjork so I can't see them even considering her.

If she plays she'l headline the other stage, maybe sub pyramid at a push but she'd suit an other slot much more.

Sorry the quote button doesn't seem to work on the PC I'm on at work !

Anyway, disagree with matt42 ( obviously :) ) , I am biased as I am a huge fan, but her name is still huge, though on the far out of alternative for some peoples taste, but I am sure that she would have at least " crossed " their minds, it would be foolhardy not too, as said she's a big name in world music, just because you may not like her or think she's still relevant doesn't mean she wouldn't be considered. Up against some of the so called other names, and there aren't that many, I think we've had that thread before, she has a great back catalogue to pull from, every headliner doesn't have to some mainstream "of the moment" act.

ps, actually I'd like it if she did a Acoustic set, that voice!, but that would never happen as she's way to big :)

Every other festival she's been announced for she's in a lower position than headline. She's rumoured to headline primavera which is a much smaller festival than glastonbury, why would glastonbury be so randomly generous?

Anyway there's no point in debating because you are a bias fan, but it won't happen. Bjork won't headline glastonbury.

I'm a massive Bjork fan, but there is no way she will headline the Pyramid & I don't think I'd want her to. The crowd would be awful.

If she plays Glastonbury she'll headline the Other Stage, but here's hoping she headlines Latitude instead.

imagine if it is coldplay or muse. Fucking hell.

Im not that fussed who headlines to be honest, as long as there is a headliner on a stage I want to see. Rather than last sunday when no one stood out.

Worst Realistic Scenario for the pyramid:

Coldplay

Ed Sheeran

Taylor Swift

My god that would be bleak.

In my opinion the Best realistic would be:

Prince

Radiohead

Elton John

Something for most people in that.

When I say realistic, I mean not each one would play on the same bill. Just they are seen as a realistic headliner

To me 'he's definitely British' refers to whoever he was talking to, not a member of the band as many are assuming.

So been around a long time - formed in 71 - band isn't British any more - lambert.

I don't think it will be but it fits.

I agree that I reckon he thought he had mac until the island threw it's whole budget at them but I don't think you can rule it out.

Hope tonight isn't as bad as I fear it may be. I really enjoyed the Paul Rogers show I saw but baulked at this one - especially at those prices.

They're a legend slot or nothing IMHO and that slot's already filled.

As for tonight, I have a feeling I'd probably prefer some flamboyant campery to Paul Rogers' meat and potato man-rawk stylings.
