Florence and the Machine is not a tight enough act to headline at all. Simply her voice is not strong enough.

I'd say her voice is too strong. No subtlety in it and she ends up shouting. Far too loud. I hate that version of "you got the love".

Ehh. It's her singing style. If she sang conventionally she'd probably be waiting tables with Duffy.

I was adamant Kasabian weren't going to headline last year, but they did. Their UK popularity is even lower (based on UK ticket sales prior to headlining) than Florence's.

There were quite a few people on here who didn't think Kasabian or Arcade Fire were big enough to headline. At least with Florence I can see why people might think she's not big enough, but with those two I've got no idea.

I don't remember quite a few? They both went down very well at R&L previous to Glastonbury despite one of them being up against a massive Enter Shikari/Pendulum crowd & their subs being as big as them.

There was definitely people on here who didn't think they were big enough though. Obviously most people disagreed with that and the Arcade Fire booking went down really well on here but there was still some people who when they were first rumoured thought they weren't big enough.

Aye, bands don't disappear for a while and then come back when promoting their album and headline. No siree.

Oh, and Florence and the Machine is both a ticket and album shifter. Maybe not on the level of Mumford and Sons when they last played, but not many bands were.

I wouldn't have a problem with Florence headlining but much like Elbow I feel sunset slot on pyramid stage just fits for them.

In terms of others who people talk about headlining (AC/DC, Fleetwood Mac, Foo Fighters, Elton etc.) can you really put Florence in the same bracket? I wouldn't say so.

I'll tell you what. Why don't we not have a band that formed from 2000 onwards and be done with it.

You're simply discounting her because you don't like her. We're nearly at the point where we know most of the bands touring this summer... So please suggest someone more likely? And don't pick someone who hasn't confirmed any dates/ tours yet..
