Anyone checked Swift's tour dates? Glastonbury would be part of four nights in a row, seems a little unfeasible? Granted she's already doing three in a row at some point, but not four. At least if Glastonbury provides an exception, the same can be said for AC/DC? ;)

What the deal with The Fall not being able to play? The 6music festival line up has shaped up nicely but not really any surprising names

Weren't they banned for some unknown reason? Possibly Mark E Smith saying something out of line?

He played with Gorillaz in 2010 though, so maybe they'll be back...

I think Mark E. Smith said Michael Eavis had an upside-down head, or was that the bloke from The Levellers?

Either way, they're way overdue a return!

I thought Eavis might've forgotten but he did allude to them being banned recently didn't he? So I don't think he's forgiven Mark E.

I can only imagine Damon smuggled him in somehow.

Well Eavis also said that Taylor Swift would be good in 'the Dolly slot' or something didn't he? I assume that's been thrown out too if people are already sold on her headlining.

only sold on her headlining because that's the info Neil was given. if we throw that out we might as well throw all info of her appearing out (although i was pretty firm on her heading to begin with)

"Damon can you headline with Gorillaz? U2 have pulled out and we've no time to get another replacement."

"Yeah, as long as we can have Mark E Smith as a guest."

"Fuck off, he said I had an upside down face. We'll promote Scissor Sisters instead."

For a young artist that's not that bad?

I honestly think a lot of you are expecting her to be just like these old bands that won't dare play back to back shows.

On the Red Tour she definitely played multiple shows together.

she's also playing a show in the US on the 22nd of May and R1's big weekend in the UK on the 24th May.

She has a tight touring schedule

It's not really that unfeasible I don't think is four. Hell, Slipknot have been playing 3 in a row and think of the strain on Taylor's vocal chords.

Yes, why, what do you think he meant? :-)

A country singer playing a high profile slot. Obviously

There's no way you can be serious. Taylor Swift in the legend slot? She's anything but. It'd be like Paolo Nutini playing that slot. Or 5 Seconds of Summer headlining West Holts. Or Catfish and the Bottlemen headlining the Pyramid. You'd have to be lacking a functional brain to accept it happening.

Fair enough. I was pretty much just saying if you think one statement's bollocks you might as well think it all is.

Four though. Four. She did six shows at the O2 Arena and similar at the Staples Centre and had one or two breaks in the middle. Singing (well) for upwards of an hour and a half for four consecutive nights is quite a big ask for anyone.

IIRC 'The legend slot' term was coined by this website, it's quite possible he's never even heard of it never mind consider it a 'rule' :-) And even if he did, like I said at the time, there was no way they were topping Dolly so it'd have been perfectly understandable if they'd chosen to book country acts there from now on rather than huge icons. Frankly, he runs the biggest festival on earth, he can book whoever for each slot that he wants :P

So why didn't she do her six shows consecutively in London?

No idea, could be anything from the backstage crew wanting a day off to the police having other demanding events on the day she missed. But even if it was down to the grounds of her health, that's choosing not to do six shows in a row, rather than four - big difference.

It was called the legends slot before you even posted on here so I'm not sure how you'd remember that, but it's pretty obvious from the lineups that it is a genuine slot.

Reappraise that, Zac, old bean. There's a lot of guff in that post.

It's been discussed on here very recently honey :)

Fair point but that still doesn't mean that they couldn't have chosen to take it in a different direction after Dolly, in which case indicating in a press conference that they're now thinking about it slightly differently would be an obvious move :-)

I think we went through this same bullshit with Depech Mode. Any thoughts on whether she could or would do multiple dates in a row and what might affect such a decision are pure speculation by people who know nothing about her making those decisions. All you can do is look at history - despite having the opportunity to do four nights in a row has she avoided such a situation? If she's never done four in a row before then it's reasonable to assume that there's a reason for that.

she has done (and is going to do) a LOT of three days on the run, with a one day gap, and then another three days on the run, but she's never done four days on the run (on her last tour or upcoming tour, anyway), so i guess that could cast some doubt on it all. she has a five day gap immediately following these days, though, so i guess squeezing one more day in shouldn't be too much work if she really wanted to do the dates

she's sandwiched Big weekend right inbetween a US tour.

She's got a show in LA on the night of the 22nd, and playing Big Weekend in Norwich on the 24th.

If anything that's more extreme than 4 nights on the trot in one country.

Could be, or the gap could be for the return to the States and to prepare for the US leg. Like I said though even that is pure speculation, looking at the facts it's perfectly reasonable to say that it's three and out. Although it's not to say it won't happen, suggesting/hoping for a fourth night isn't anything more than guessing at this stage.
