That's kind of my point - I'm not saying it's easy but for at least the last five festivals someone somewhere, whether it's here, in the Daily Star, down the pub or on Facebook has correctly guessed the three main headliners well before now. This year all i can see is that no one really has a clue, which is fine because it makes the build up to line-up day even more exciting!

if people are guessing, some of those guesses will inevitably be right. That just a fact of guessing. I was guessing at them too, and then guessing something else for equally 'good' reasons five minutes later.

The convo here I took more to be in relation to what the rumours page and posts here were saying, so I was answering from that perspective. There was no one posting on these forums saying it was those three and insisting they were right, or even people having a strong suspicion that it might be.

Metallica had been announced as only at Soni, remember.

Oh I forgot about that, fair play to whoever it was that posted it.

actually, now I've got to thinking back, perhaps i took more notice of it than I'd been thinking.

At some point before them at Soni were announced I'd done some digging on them that had (for some reason) included the possibility of Glasto, and part of what I heard then did suggest that Glasto was on the cards (I think I might have posted something here at that time, about Metallica doing 2 UK shows).

However, the Soni announcement shut me up about that, precisely because they were claimed as an exclusive. It was a long time later before I was aware from some info I got that there was something to it after all.

Unless it was wild lie that ended up coming true?

So just incase....

I've just bumped into Emily in my local Greggs. She has just said Bowie, Prince and Radiohead are headlining.

It was me so fuck you Dunlop.

And for the record - it wasnt Tescos is was Marks and Spencers in Bath. And it was my daughter who told me of a conversation between her manager and Michael which I simply reported.

And if you can be bothered - check the original mail out. I say in that I dont necessarily believe it myself Im just reporting it. Do I now know it was true or did I get I get any further information (at the time I think I said it was the Other Stage they'd been booked for which is what I was told)? Nah. Do I even know for a fact that it really happened? Nah.

I had no reason to promote the idea or interest in lying.

Be verrry surprised if someone hasn't guessed this years correctly by now. We just won't know which they are til they come out!! Tbf, we've had Foos down for a long time already, and now Neil's got TS as a SR. So fair chance we have 2/3 already.

To be honest I expected it to be someone who posted on here and never to be seen again. If I had've done my research or waited til someone mentioned who it was I wouldn't have used that phrase.

I do apologise.

No worries buddy.

The grief I've had from my daughter for posting the original post on here. As I know she'll read this post cos she comes on here: sorry sorry sorry (again).

Ha. As I say I jumped to an assumption - tried to have a mild joke (about Bowie) and came across as a twat. My fault. To be fair, I'm used to doing that!!

Just been reading the last few pages, one of the first things that comes to my mind if I read too much into the comments about a lot of people might not be happy is One Direction.

They're busy on the Saturday, and we're led to 'assume' T-Swizz is on the Sunday, and the Foos are my bet for the Friday, but as they're available for two of the three nights its entirely possible I guess :(

my daughter told me of a conversation between her manager and Michael

In fairness I can easily undertand how that would easily be dismissed in these parts :P Still better than almost anything we've heard for this year though :(

To be fair I genuinely want a headliner that I think that'll do put on an awesome show for the the people who will be their but I don't want to see.

I feel that I want to have a thoroughly enjoyed Other or John Peel headliner set.

There's nothing worse than a headliner who I don't want to see and really don't do a job of it.

Had a right good time at Bobby Womack on the Sunday of 2013, woke up on the Sunday of 2014 to the news he'd died, then went to watch the ballet. Weirdly emotional day, culminated in me sobbing at Massive Attack and not sleeping at all, refusing to accept it was all over.

Mumford & Sons headline set was so fucking boring. Had a great festival in 2013 but that ended it on a downer. I only went along as I was fucked by that point so I just went along with where the mrs wanted to go.

Probably similar size crowd as gorillaz in 2010 maybe few more people.

Considering they were the biggest selling band in the world round about the time they headlined. But as usual music snobbery comes into play

How on earth does music snobbery come into play when discussing the size of an act's crowd? The people who like them saw them. The people who don't like them didn't see them. Are you suggesting that if those people were less snobby about music they'd have gone to see an act they didn't want to see?
