It's becoming ridiculous the amount of festivals florence is doing this year.

I don't think Glasto will escape her.

Same with Alt-J. It's like the two of them are in competition.

is Florence headlining Roskilde?

Judging by their lineup page, no (she's the 6th artist listed, and they've still loads to come yet).

Assuming bigger and better acts had already been lined up when she asked to play ... If Florence and her team have sense they won't take a sub slot at Glastonbury 2015 and will come back and headline in 2016.

She's gathering the momentum this year and could maybe get the bigger pay outs next year with the likes of titp and v

If she takes headliner at some European festivals and say Reading and Leeds or T in the Park, or a sub at those, in 2015 she could headline Glasto and V/the in 2016. If she takes Glastonbury sub in 2015 she will have to wait till her next album cycle to headline Glastonbury.

This is all assuming her third album is going to do really well.

I imagine Foals to face the same problem on their next cycle..

To be fair, Foo Fighters are a pretty good pick for a headliner.

They'll put on a good show but it's just so underwhelming considering they've done every other festival numerous times.

I think the problem with Glastonbury is we've been spoiled too much in the last few years. The calibre of headliners in the last decade will never be matched and nearly every major act who could play, already has. Going forward this is the sort of Pyramid headliners we should start to expect.

I envisage Glastonbury 2025 tickets being much more easy to purchase than they are currently. The majority book tickets expecting a Rolling Stones or Prince as it stands.

Do they? Because I book tickets based on the full Galstonbury experience, and it has sod all to do with the headliners. Hence why it sells out before any are announced.

I don't see why we have completely ruled out Radiohead just yet, I'm not a fan but when Arctic Monkeys healdined in 2013 we hadn't received any album details and that only came shortly before Glastonbury. We know they are in the studio so it's not impossible

*when they were announced to headline they hadn't released any album details

You're kidding yourself if you don't think people expect decent headliners when they book. They'll look at previous form when they decide.

Whether those three are decent is obviously subjective...

As do I but that's only a recent development the instant sell out. I reckon if people were presented with a weak lineup the experience wouldn't be enough alone. Look at the panic of 2008.

That's fair, and is probably true for most who've been before. Over recent years, though, the number of people wanting to go for the first time has massively outweighed the number who decide not to go anymore (and the increases in capacity), and I'd put that down largely to high-profile headliners (on all televised stages). Therefore, if there was a run of slightly underwhelming headliners, there's a decent chance demand would drop a bit.
