Gaga's crowd was VAST. And this came and went without such as a whimper on here. From either degenerate fanboy or detractor.

Lot of pent up aggression from one side. Personally - as with Gaga/Shakira/JessieJ - I could care less. I'm baffled as to this apparent horde of male teens (?) foaming at the mouth at prospect of their flawless idol being criticised. It's mental.

tbf I think a lot of that is to wind up people who appear to be vehemently against her playing/headlining/being in the same field as them.

And vice-versa of course. Which is why we're in this mess.

Yeah there are some absolute truncheons that are vocally against Taylor Swift (and Florence) headlining without much reason. But Ghostdancer put in a pretty good point how Chemical Brothers would possibly attract more people than Taylor Swift and they were immediately swatted down because Taylor Swift is bigger than Jesus and they must be incredibly off the pulse or whatever. I just thought it was a very good point as they're packed with hits that people have grown up with and are so popular at Glastonbury they've already headlined the Pyramid so I felt compelled to rant against this thing.

Yeah, used it constantly when I was applying; was a great help. There were threads hundreds of pages long for every course I applied to.

Now I only use it for the football threads (mainly the Arsenal thread).

I know next to nothing of taylor swift (waiting till she's TBC to go beyond the few you tube videos i've seen, prompted by this board) but i can't see her playing other personally. Comparing her to the chems isn't really possible and though jake bugg was uber mainstream he still seems more suited to t'other than TS.

I think a more important comparison is with florence and kylie as, rightly or wrongly, i'll be surprised if the Eavi book all three in any slot so (as they're all around) they would probably have weighed up the cost and popularity of each... the latter is very subjective. Personally i'd know a lot more kylie and flo songs and, whilst i don't avidly follow pure/country pop, i don't think i'm at all out of touch re fest headliners.

I don't think her being offered a sub slot is out of the question. People said dolly was too big for the legend slot (beneath kasabian who aren't an epic sized headliner) and metallica wouldn't headline but they did, whilst ed sheeran and paulo nutini got (what now seem) smaller slots and jake bugg somehow headlined the other - strange things happen. A sunset slot to a packed crowd can be as big a deal as a headliner - dolly was. Whether she'd take it i have literally no idea.
