Gucci Piggy
Love it. If Taylor Swift subs it's because she'll be a special guest to Coldplay, but not because the Eavii see her as a sub-headliner. Oh no no no.
MEGABOWL
Strange one this. I like Coldplay and they were superb in 2011 but it feels like too much of a repeat. Anyway, I don't have a ticket so can only hope this prompts a few Coldplay haters to chuck their tickets in.

jamesrfisher
I wish it was. Just think, they break up in 2014 playing last show at Glastonbury. They reform in 2018 and play their first show at Glastonbury. Every four years, ffs
CaledonianGonzo
T-SwizzleSizzle will be highlight, but at the minute she's looking like practically the only game in town.
russycarps
COLDPLAY! what why how!? We weren't prepared for this. Anything ANYTHING but these c**ts! (apart from take that). This is what happens when the festival becomes obsessed with booking 'super groups' and fearing it won't sell out next year otherwise. How can the organisers think this is a progressive move? What a load of steaming shite.
srb
Liked first couple of Coldplay albums, but caught them live and realised I preferred listening to them in the house. Bit uninspiring to be honest, but as others have said, plenty of other stuff going on so I will be off keeping it real elsewhere

ltfckimbo
Nobody can say they're not worthy headliners (even if they are shit), but it makes no sense to have them headline for a 4th time. I'd rather they had someone different like Florence, even though she is even shitter. Edited February 3, 2015 by ltfckimbo

From your point of view, in terms of a detrimental effect on your existence, the worst booking Glastonbury have ever made is Neil Young... willutalk
If Colplay were boring live in 2004 (which is what I can remember of them) then now days they'd be wearisomly mundane.

Ha I know what you mean but this doesn't even give us any opportunities for fun on the forum over the coming months like Taylor swift or the like would have. Everyone will be totally apathetic about this. Gutted.

DomDom1984
Seen Coldplay twice and think they're excellent live. However, this is uninspiring stuff. I don't think there's any kidding on thinking they're being progressive. They know it's a safe booking and a potential ticket shifter, and those two things are completely correct. What a load of steaming shite. 100% correct. The "someone has fallen through so they went to old friends" argument doesn't wash. Take a punt on someone. Whether it be a florence (who I don't like) or even someone like Royal Blood. Yes it would be risky for latter but fuck me. It isn't just recycling the same old and let's play it safe. (They were the first 2 names I plucked out of the air - not suggesting them per se... Actually compared to Coldplay, I am) Edited February 3, 2015 by FuzzyDunlop
ltfckimbo
To be fair, the 3rd headliner is going to have to be utter shite for it to be worse than 2011's trio. Saying that Swift would just about do it. Anyway I had a smashing time in 2011 without seeing any of them. Friday night was (i think) Biffy, Morrissey, Chase & Status and Primal Scream! Smashed off my tits i was, great night.

GlastoSimon
Ah, Russy there you are. Think it is still the festival's reaction to 2008. Possibly true, but there were surely others they could have turned to? Give smaller acts the nod etc.? Assuming they've got the Foo Fighters lined up (mainstream guitar rockers, sell out stadiums etc.), did they really need another super group? The above question becomes even more relevant if they've got Swift on board too. I think there might be something more to this than 'panic'. It's quite early for that stuff too. Just a bit weird that they're seemingly doing this with no new album to promote, and no signs of a 'world tour' sort of thing. I could perhaps forgive the Eavii if it was a 'this would be our last time' affair, but otherwise it's a shite booking. The sad thing is, most people probably will be well happy.
