GlastoSimon
There is going to be an album, is there not? Oops, appears so according to the net. No doubt this one will be full of radio-friendly hits for the Pyramid and consequent stadium tour to follow. I think they just think they have got a great booking that the punters want. The sad thing is, most people probably will be well happy. Most people are idiots Russ Yeah that's probably true, I just wonder whether it means that they've failed to get one of the 'big acts' touted so far - in which case there's potential for someone decent I guess. FloorFiller
if the headliners are in fact Foos, Coldplay and Taylor Swift, what are we thinking about Florence then? subbing Coldplay, or just not there at all?
The 38 year old virgin
Nobody can say they're not worthy headliners (even if they are shit), but it makes no sense to have them headline for a 4th time. I'd rather they had someone different like Florence, even though she is even shitter. As painful as it is true.
kingcrawler
if the headliners are in fact Foos, Coldplay and Taylor Swift, what are we thinking about Florence then? subbing Coldplay, or just not there at all? I'm not sure where else is left for her to play if she doesn't headline Glastonbury apart from T and I'd be surprised if she subbed festivals again. GlastoSimon
She was a sub if they could get prince. Kasabian was a sub if they could get prince. Taylor swift is a sub. Ergo they've got prince. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh It's Pr*nce this year, anyway.
FloorFiller
I'm not sure where else is left for her to play if she doesn't headline Glastonbury apart from T and I'd be surprised if she subbed festivals again. yeah it'd be odd if she returned to UK festivals not headlining, but it just seems very weird that she wouldn't be booked for Glastonbury considering how much she loves it and hasn't played since 2010
MichaelsBeard
Maybe Neil's heard they'll be there and (naturally) just assumed they'll be headlining. Could be a secret set or something? Just doesn't sit right with me. *clutches at every straw*.
ICGenie
I think they're shite and would be nowhere near the mainstage if they play BUT they have released 2 albums since last playing And with another on the way. I really don't see what the problem is here. They are well established within the festival and this sounds like it may be their last chance to take to the Pyramid. I think we have to accept that you can't have three acts who've never headlined before every year.

Maybe the Eavii heard that story and given her a lifetime ban for unGlastonburylike conduct.

russycarps
I think we have to accept that you can't have three acts who've never headlined before every year. Why not though? The only reason I can think of is because the festival has been taken over by people who utterly lack vision and imagination.

FloorFiller
if Coldplay are in fact thinking of packing it in after this album, then having their UK festival swan song at Glastonbury does seem appropriate, but that's the only way this booking seems reasonable and not extremely lazy and poor
Matt - Ed Banger Records
I would love to see new acts every year, it would cause meltdown on here though - I think festivals do genuinely have a difficult balancing act, its about balancing risk I guess

Ghost stories did very well, but I do feel like the band feel done. Glastonbury took a punt and got them big, if this is their swan song then it makes perfect sense. rivalschools.price
Aaaaggggghhhh!!!!! Festival gods, why do you mock me so? An average(at best) Download January announcement followed by Mumfords for Reading was bad enough but F*#king Coldplay as well. I may have to spend all three festivals drinking beer instead of watching bands.
Wooderson
I hear the sound of mardy's ticket falling onto the resale pile. This could be the final straw that decides it for him. DON'T DO IT MARDY. It could still be prince on sunday. Place would be slightly worse without you there. Slowly paving the way for more coldplay in years to come. He's gonna go for a boozy wander with me. Rest easy young Sir.
GlastoSimon
Some say eFestivals (the source) is reliable, some say it's not..In any case they're not the ones selling tickets obviously, so not an official source, plus the way the article is phrased sounds a bit like wishful thinking more than anything else. I mean we could easily have written the same. Sort 'em out Neil! I mean... they think you were 'wishfully thinking' about Coldplay headlining ffs
Ged Devereux
Surely for their last show they'd play Wembley or somewhere else for their fans? What about Michael's comment about hes British but the band aren't anymore? None of the proposed headliners fall into that do they?
Amy Lawn
"hahaha I'm reading the eFestivals forum and look:http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/t...015/?p=4548054Hello haturs!" Hello, Captain Crieff! Kindly tell your rabble that efests is a terribly unreliable source of information, and that any attempt to get tickets in the resale would be a fool's errand. NFiR NFC, lads, got to keep out the riff raff.
