if Coldplay are in fact thinking of packing it in after this album, then having their UK festival swan song at Glastonbury does seem appropriate, but that's the only way this booking seems reasonable and not extremely lazy and poor

there's absolutely no chance that they'd have their final ever gig in less than 5 months time.

if they're going to be doing any gigs, they'll do a world tour, and even a short one would be way too much to announce and sell and do in March-June.

Reading a thread about a thread on a forum that is talking about this thread on this forum.

Anyway.. I've given the Coldplaying board a shuffle and decided anywhere that has posts such as this must be a mighty fine place....

I've noticed that Coldplay doesn't swear in any of their released songs (minus live albums and Lost+, the man who swears and idiot don't count). Is there any interview or something where they give a reason for them doing this? I really respect this choice because I can play it anywhere I want, knowing Coldplay is clean. I hope they never swear in their new albums (I doubt they will).

i didn't mean it to be their FINAL gig ever, but considering the album is out this year, Glastonbury having them first on the album cycle (rather than in 2016 after the album's been out for a while) would make sense, and it could be their final UK festival if they chose not to do any others (not that they ever do). i doubt they'd schedule their entire breakup around Glastonbury, so if they did want to do one final Glastonbury before splitting, this could be their only shot

or, they're not splitting, and this is just a lazy bullshit booking

sources + members of the band have said it would be too soon to headline glasto again + it doesn't seem like they're playing any festivals at all this year. I'm not saying I'm sure they're not playing but it just seems a bit unlikely. Also sorry for continuing the back and forth between the boards but I don't feel like making an account

Hmmm, I remember them saying that it was 'too soon' for '14 but I'd say an eFests TBC is fairly conclusive info.

If one positive has come out of this, eFests can finally take on the coldplaying forum in a battle to the death.

On various occasions in last few months they have denied the fact that they will be playing. Comments like 'too soon' and theyll be 'recording' show that its very unlikely.
