Mardy
Nah, their mortgages and kids school fees are sorted for the next few years, we'll not hear from them for a while. Same as Pulp.
Amy Lawn
Nah, their mortgages and kids school fees are sorted for the next few years, we'll not hear from them for a while. Same as Pulp. Unfair to lump Pulp in with them. And they were both excellent live for the comeback shows, so thank you to Ian Brown's local yacht showroom or whatever. dentalplan
Kylie's ship has sailed. Her album and gig sales both performed pretty poorly, and in a year where Kaiser Chiefs have received a shot in the arm from Ricky Wilson doing The Voice as well. I think she'd be (so) lucky to sub nowadays. Edited October 1, 2014 by dentalplan

LondonTom
How much new material Pulp released since they returned? They was excellent, and did stuff like the TCT show and secret slot Glastonbury so it did seem less about just the money and more about finishing off on a better note than they had left it. GlastoSimon
I really don't believe Pulp were grabbing the money and running. The shows they did weren't that big anyway - aside from Hyde Park and Sheffield Arena.
Badlands
Nah, I’m not having that. Brown and Squire did the Mick Jones gig for Hillsborough, & that little Olympic gig in London. Love how the band with the working class background are always in it for the money, while the broadsheet darlings are there for the love of the art. I’m not saying the Roses weren’t chasing the dollar, but I’d certainly argue that Pulp were doing it for the love.

Just find it fascinating how different context is applied to reunion tours depending on the bands fanbase.
davefrompompey
I loved that After You song. Great tune. And I still, inexplicably, have never seen Pulp, so I'd love it if they eventually came back again. What better place than Glastonbury? Pulp not from a working class background? I think you're making the common mistake that laddiness = working class.
