Might not mean anything but, just in case - Sleaford Mods tweeted "Rather have Kanye than them hard ladz". Then when asked by Geoff Barrow who the hard lads are, replied "my lawyers have instructed me to keep it zipped" to which Geoff replied "ha I know!!"

Possibly referring to the 3rd headliner?

Kasabian sprung to my mind

It is possible I guess that they know. Then again the Sleaford Mods do talk alot of crap. Don't really have a clue who 'them hard ladz' could be that they refer to.

maybe they read this forum, given the things said about them on here recently!

not that anyone here would spell 'lads' with a 'z'.

I don't think they would be referring to a previous headliner though. Sleaford Mods have no problem with openly criticising any act so there would be no need for them to be coy about it ("my lawyer has told me to keep it zipped") unless there was a legal reason for them not disclosing who they are talking about. It could just be a jokey comment that doesn't mean anything but, you never know.

It's presumably Oasis.

Why would their lawyer be bothered about them calling Oasis 'hard ladz'? nobody has stopped them in the past, been good for publicity... only reason I can see a lawyer stopping them if it's a headliner for a festival they're tbc to play.

Do you mean Ian Brown can't sing? I think it is wrong really to insinuate they are shit because Ian Brown is not blessed vocally. Musically you will be hard pressed to find another British band better than them. Imo Britain has not produced any drummer as good as Reni, he is the best. How good is John Squire on guitar? Johnny Marr maybe better but there are not many more. Then there is Mani's killer basslines.

I know what you are trying to say as I have seen both sides of the Roses, 1st when the crowd sing along and the atmosphere is great. When it is not a partisan Roses crowd, Ian's voice can suffer a bit. But you will be hard pressed to find a better British band musically and the songs stand up for themselves.

he was brilliant when he headlined the other stage in 2005, and that was without the full band.

well, some of his solo numbers were a bit dodgy but after starting the gig with 5 roses songs he had the crowd in the palm of his hand.

Ace gig.

You know, pretty much all of the musicians I properly, genuinely, deep down love, can't sing for shit. I'm not including Ian Brown in that, just saying.

A lot of mine too, but singing vaguely in key live is a requirement of sorts!

Aye. If we wanted virtuoso performances we'd all be listening to just opera (which I love, but you know what I mean)

People like Dylan, Lydon, Lou Reed etc always top of the "shit" singers list, are actually great singers. Diction and delivery, fucking about with melody, pulling it all over the place.

But I still love Nat King Cole too. Room for both.

I love the Stone Roses on record but they were shite when I saw them in 2012. I'm sure the crowd carried them well in the UK, but seeing them abroad really did emphasise just how bad they can be.

Agreed, listening to the video's back from Heaton Park vocals weren't great but at Coachella they were a lot better.

Shaun Ryder, Ian Brown, Tim Burgess and Bernard Sumner, none of them can sing yet it has not really hindered them. It is quite ironic that the best singer from all the bands I like (James Mudriczki from Puressence) never managed to make the big breakthrough.

Granted, this isn't outside on stage in front of 60,000 people but this is decent

Saw them at Heaton and Finsbury Parks and was too busy singing along to notice Brown's vocals. Great gigs. Would love to see them close the festival

Course. Stevie Wonder sized crowd for 'em.

That clip is my favourite bit of the whole film, genuinely transcendtal and magical. For them, I can't imagine how it must feel. That's what they were born to do, it clicks together and nothing ever can replicate that feeling. Stunning. 2.51 in, that expression on their faces. Fuck, fuck, fuck.

So are you also passionate about your lovely tories murdering the NHS and being best buds with a bunch of bankers!?

And labour weren't? Bank bonuses, obscenely high ones, occured under Labour, plus Labour deregulated the banks, they were in the bankers pockets far more than we are

The NHS was shit under labour too, who bought in league tables thus encouraging trusts to bend the rules to climb higher up the tables? and speaking of NHS the scandals of Staffordshire and Wales happened under labour

Then there is selling off our gold at a fraction of cost, the tens of billions wasted on the NHS and immigration computers that didnt work, the illegal invasion of a country that as a result set our reputation back decades and caused 7/7 and 21/7

But hey if it floats your boat carry on pretending labour were competent ;)

You're the only one to mention Labour.

It was so easy for them at that stage.

Just bang on the money.

It would be awesome to have them as Sunday headliners.

Probably because it was just a bit of jovial and meaningless backchat between two people unaware their comments were being scrutinised by a Glastonbury forum.

This is either a very poor attempt at trolling or you really are a bitter and twisted person.

The Tories voted for invading Iraq anyway

Anyway I think we should all move on from BonScott. I'm not sure this is the right place for raving Tories who only want to go to Glastonbury if AC/DC play.
