Probably because it was just a bit of jovial and meaningless backchat between two people unaware their comments were being scrutinised by a Glastonbury forum.

Maybe yeah, probably even... but take this forums scrutiny out of the equation and there's still a point there, talking about Glastonbury and the lawyers say to Sleaford Mods, renowned for saying what they want, they can't say anything, just saying it's interesting is all.

I agree, The Stone Roses were pretty terrible when i saw them in Oz a few years ago. Musically fine, but the vocals were just dreadful. The crowd sing-along made it just bearable.

A band/artist of that poor a quality are not Headline worthy in the slightest. imo

Future Music Melbourne? Tiny crowd.

he was brilliant when he headlined the other stage in 2005, and that was without the full band.

well, some of his solo numbers were a bit dodgy but after starting the gig with 5 roses songs he had the crowd in the palm of his hand.

Ace gig.

^ This. Yes. Was it pissing down? Hmmm that time in 2005, prob not. I was drunk.

Granted, this isn't outside on stage in front of 60,000 people but this is decent

This was my favourite part of the Shane Meadows film, made my hair stand on end.

Fulfilled a long standing ambition my seeing them at Finsbury a couple of years ago, for those doubting I was very pleasantly surprised by how tight they sounded and by how good Brown's vocals were. Would love to see them again.

would it be unprecedented if the third headliner was also non british? I can't imagine there has ever been 3 out of 3 non british pyramid headliners, but i'm prepared to stand corrected.

i dont think its impossible I just dont think they would want that to be the case. But if it is going to be a british act it does narrow things down significantly. I can still see Florence getting it despite all the smoke and mirrors and denials. I think we have our 2 biggest headliners already.

I can't see them bringing blur back to headline. it doesnt feel long enough ago and their new material is not meant to be a big stage pyramid style effort.

I don't think the nationality matters a jot, to be honest. If the acts that are about to be booked this year happen to be all American so be it, all that really matters is the quality and whether they can fill a field.

What a sad indictment on current British music if that happens

Does anybody think One Direction will headline in the future? If rock/rap/metal acts are given a chance then why not the biggest pop band on the earth?

Obviously by no means do I want them within 100000 miles of the festival... But just wondering if they would ever be considered?

for the kind of acts that usually headline the Pyramid, maybe, but generally British music is selling loads around world. it's rarely been more popular. but could you imagine the uproar if the headliners were Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran and Calvin Harris?

no, because they have no credibility whatsoever.

On the one direction note I'm still quite surprised none of them have been to the festival yet. With it being such a 'cool' place to be photographed if you're a celeb.

I'd expected by now to see at least one of them crawling out of Bez's acid house smacked up to their eye balls.

Re: Roses, the fact that Brown's 2005 set (the Roses songs in particular) seemed to go down so well means I wouldn't be too worried about any vocal 'ruining it'. It's just all a bit out of the blue for me to consider it as a real possibility, we've only really had two assertions - one being from Mike

I think it will be a British act, but for those shouting 'mini Clarkson!!' to those who think the same, it's not a case of it has to be a British act. Just think it will be, given they've had at least one every year since '93.

No, maybe in some apocalyptic future
