I don't get the hate for Green Day's performances last year. Reading was the best gig I've ever been to. Sadly will never get the chance to rock the Pyramid :(

I saw them at Brixton last year and they smashed it (Dookie in full helped), Emirates was good too. Didn't go to Reading but I can't see how they could've been so bad

gagas already played and was rubbish.

Were you there? Impressed.

pharell - Im gonan stick my neck out and say he will be booked. might even flutter some money on it unless neil has something to the contrary.i honestly think it would be silly not to book him while he's cresting the wave and at the peak of his career. Could feature lots of guests and hits... gauranteed crowd pleaser.

what your thoughts on pharell then? surprised that he isnt mentioned much but should be

wouldn't he find it hard to fill just a 20 minute set? :P;)

He filled an hour at Wireless easy - though he isn't headline-material, would probably face some protests on the 'Blurred Lines' front and I don't see why he wouldn't have been booked when he was in the UK during Glasto 2014 if he was going to be booked at all.

yeh true, I'd rank foo fighters alongside muse, killers, kings of leon, kasabian etc in terms of "heaviness". Soft rock. Perfect for the pyramid I suppose.

Though do foo fighters have as many "hits" as those other bands I've mentioned? I know not a lot about them, aside from that I dont like them

Yeeeeeeaaaah. The Killers are the next most prolific but even they've only got about eight or nine really massive hits. The Foos have a good 13/14 that they'd be absolutely slaughtered for not playing even before they started on the songs from Sonic Highways they'd be there to promote.

Example subbing - maybe it is one space too high, but surely he isnt any smaller than Dizzy who subbed not so long ago? But your prob right.

subbed the other last year and everything he's put out since has bombed.

I saw them at Leeds and thought they were alright but nothing spectacular, yes Billie Joe is an energetic frontman but all the 'Heeeey Oh's' he did in most songs got far too tedious. Very frustrating when he started doing it in the chorus of basket case amongst other's haha.

Haha! People wonder how they play 3 hours sets... About 1 of those hours is filled with the 'Heeeey Oh's'

Indeed, thought they was great and I was always a bit cynical about them in the past until seeing them live. (Actually the first time was the Reading secret set in 2012).

As good they were, I am not sure if they would work on the Pyramid. It just doesn't "feel" Pyramidy for some reason. I can't quite put my finger on why I think that though.

Biffy headlined R&L in 12, then IOW and T last year, went pretty well at them all. I know their album won't be till probably end of next year but if they had a single or two out it'd be smiliar to Arctics whose album wasn't out till September after they appeared.

To early for them I think, maybe the year after with the new album but I get the impression with those gigs at the end of the year they might actually be taking some time off!

Then again they could have writen songs on the road, and be ready again by June :D

Arctics' album was just after summer whereas Biffy are aiming for the end of 2015 so more likely 2016 release. Plus Arctics hadn't played a UK show for nearly two years and Biffy will have played practically the same set at three other UK festivals. It's likely they'll headline in 2016 anyway.

Would have thought Foos comfortably have more hits than Zep/Prince. Doesn't really matter but just pointing it out.

True, though I guess it depends on who you're talking to. For an older person (dunno how old whoever I was talking to is) then they probably know more Prince/Zep hits than Foos hits. But yeah, to a Glastonbury crowd Foo Fighters would probably have more hits.
