They headlined reading in 07.

Edit: and now just realised how long ago that actually was. Still, I'd say they were as relevant then as they are now.

I'd say you have to take into account band members, when they headlined Reading they had Jimmy Chamberlain, now it's just Billy and Jeff Schroeder (sp?)

I think that if SP properly reformed then they'd be a headline consideration for a few festivals

Yeah, fair enough, hadn't considered that to be honest.

Can't it be that a band has something lined up on the following weekend? That's what I thought when I first read what Matt Davies said.

Yeah it's more likely to do with Roskilde, which is the following weekend and (I think) is starting a day earlier than usual.

Just thought I'd post it here with the dates now clashing & all.

With some of the suggestions here I'll be spending most of the time at the other stage! (though I was pleasantly surprised by Arcade Fire this year).

I'm not worried just yet though, some of the suggestions are comical and a reflection of the individuals tastes rather than reality!

Surely AC/DC would be more likely to just play Werchter Boutique/Classic/whatever the week before?

Or Graspop - also run by Live Nation - but now that's also been moved ahead a week.

I think AC/DC are also promoted by Live Nation so if I was gonna guess it'd be Foos and AEG holding Werchter over a barrel because of some huge UK dates on (what was) Werchter weekend or something.

Good job too, seeing as you've got arguably 9 Pyramid headliners all playing in the same year :P. Certainly Rihanna and Biffy aren't subbing. Lower your expectations! I thought people might have after this year's Pyramid and Other headliners but apparently not.

It would be a very poor argument for them all to headline!

This doesn't seem to be confirmed anywhere else but for some reason NME.com tickets have Foos & QOTSA listed at Wembley on 19th/20th June.

I think there was a poster doing the rounds for those gigs about a month ago. Still haven't been announced though I don't think.

Best case scenario...

- Friday -

AC/DC

- Saturday -

FLEETWOOD MAC

- Sunday -

PINK FLOYD

Current gut feeling...

- Friday -

FOO FIGHTERS

- Saturday -

FLEETWOOD MAC

- Sunday -

ADELE

Can't see Adele doing Glastonbury, isn't she terrified of large crowds?

For "Queen", I'll grant you, it would be a bit of a struggle to make the argument, but that really comes down to the fact they wouldn't play at all rather than their size (they are comparable to someone like One Direction). The other 8, no problems making a decent argument at all.
