I definitely agree that with the kanye backlash they feel they should let people know other acts - I know most of us are quite liberal but there are probably a few Glasto goers that will probably be abit cheesed off about paying before seeing who's playing.

You can argue, "well maybe glastonbury isn't for them", but in today's economy, I can understand why it's probably fair to release it before payment day?

Has no one else considered that they could release it 7pm friday? The IOW announcment is at 8am and I'd say that's barely overshadowing if IOW have the morning press and Glasto have the evening press. I'm not totally sold that today is the only day it can realistically be this week...

Matt can you do a stage prediction, please?

think about that, what are most people doing at 7 onwards on a friday night, not a good time

Still think it'll be announced before the payment window, they'll just get loads of complaints if they don't. Then if people hand back tickets and really like the lineup they'll get even more.

I seem to remember that last year there were a fair amount of moans being directed at Emily on Twitter that the balance window had opened and they hadn't announced the lineup yet. I'm sure that's why we got that odd poster last year with just the jumble of names - because they hadn't got everything totally locked down yet for the full poster, but they were getting so many moans that they had to announce some acts!

I'm certain that everyone on here will pay regardless of whether we get something or not. I'll certainly be paying on April 1st.

However as I click "pay" and commit 200 notes (plus car parking) I would like something for my money. I don't mind mind paying the £50 deposit blind, but getting nothing for the whole ammount would grate on me a little.

This is a very good point.

Tghis plus the issues with Kanye, I think, mean we will get it before or as balance payment opens.

They do not want more bad publicity with people dropping out and moaning over facebook/twitter etc and in the news. Will not help ticket sales in the future. They are a business whose model is based on the tickets selling out.

I think it could easily be after balance week. Most people will buy tickets regardless who is playing. Some people will buy tickets in the hope of a great third headliner. Some people won't buy tickets but they will just get resold. I don't think there is a pressing need for them to release before or during balance week.

I'm not saying I think it will be after cause I dont. I'm just saying they have no need to do it before or during.

Agreed. I thought it was a mistake to wait until after the balance window opened before announcing anything last year. Nobody was saying "ooh, I'm glad they did it that way!" but plenty of people were upset that they were being asked to pay full ticket prices without much to go on.

Forward to this year, and for many the information people have is actually enough to put some people off paying, or at least delay. A pre-release of the line up would instantly solve that problem before it's even an issue.

It's inconceivable to me that they'd make the same mistake twice.

I agree with this - obviously I will pay, but it seems a little like being taken advantage of. It's just a feeling and isn't based on any concrete reasoning, it just seems like a lot of blind faith!

But what if the third headliners crap? Where the expectation is greater than the act surely they would release it after payment window?

I've got a feeling it's going to be Wednesday 8 April - the day after the balance payment window closes. With a slight possibility of the third headliner before/during the window but I doubt it.

It might just be me but there seemed to be few comments from the Eavii in October about how happy they were that people bought tickets for the festival without knowing who's playing. I know that the same has happened each year since 2009 but they seemed to be making more of a point of it.

I agree with the beard. I reckon it'll drop after the payment window like the old days. That was always part of the charm. Wednesday 8th is my guess

i don't think most people care about the 1 headliner that's left, it's about having a decent amount of names so there something to go "oh great, these acts will be worth the large amount of money i'm shelling out".
