no, some of us have access to the best proof that's available.

Unfortunately with any "best proof" the source always has a reason to lie if they've got something to cover up and want to cover it up ... but after 15 years of hearing both the truth and lies I do have a very good history of being able to distinguish.

A few days ago you said you thought it was either prince or roses. So if you now don't think it's roses then it must be....... :)

So would I, tbf, but is this not almost completely impossible? I can pretty much guarantee there'll be at least 50 artists I want to see.

I agree with this. I can't imagine there not being something on there for everyone somewhere - even if the headliners aren't to everyone's taste.

And to be honest, even if the lineup didn't cater for me, I would still go for the million other things to see and do!

Exactly. In fairness if there is at least ten bands that you want to see and would pay to go and see then the Glastonbury ticket is value for money, if we say that the average cost is between £20-30 for a ticket. I would be very surprised if anyone couldn't find at least ten bands in any line-up they wouldn't be interested in going to watch.

Did tickets really go that quickly? I tried for them and assumed it was an error with the system when I couldn't buy. His set at the Hydra at the end of last year took ages to sell out...

yeah it was a bit of a joke tbh, was there at 11am and didn't manage to get any and theres tons of people on the Facebook event saying they were cut out while putting in their bank details and told it was sold out.

that surprises me because that hydra set would have been just off the back of north borders' release? I guess shapes is a bit smaller as a venue and they made a big effort in getting plenty of coverage for the event with near 8k attending on Facebook, me included :(... no doubt plenty of touting knobs

was sure i was going to get to tick bonobo off the bucket list, a dj set at glasto will do fine

Count me among the people who would not pay the balance if the line up was REALLY awful. Having said that, we already know Foo Fighters, Kanye, Lionel and Courtney Barnett so I'm already happy. Kind of hoping the final headliner is someone I'm not interested in so I can check something else out on Sunday.

There is so much more to do than the Pyramid. But people saying the people moaning about lack of lineup are missing the point of Glastonbury - is a bit harsh.

Whilst I'll still be going anyway, and I'm sure 99% of this forum would go if they bumped Bobby from Eastenders up to sunday headliner, the 220 ticket price surely warrants a few big name announcements before we part with our money?

Are Foo Fighters, Kanye and Lionel Richie not a few big name announcements? Especially as this is Glastonbury which doesn't want people coming just because of a few big names.

Personally, I won't like most of what they announce anyway and will pay up regardless of what/if they announce, but I realise that not everybody is like me. (Un)fortunately.

people are forgetting that there will be many new people at Glastonbury for the first time this year who have no idea about all the other stuff on offer.

for them, it's the music that is the major driving factor.

also, there's enough other festivals around these days with other late night areas and art-y stuff that this isn't a huge factor for most people. it's much better at Glastonbury and so much more choice, but at the end of the day, it's about the large amount of music/performance stages and acts for many people.

Yeah I see what you're saying, I'd forgotten all about Lionel Richie with the recent furore over Kanye etc.

I'm in the same boat as yourself - and I will be paying regardless of the lineup.

My point was that £220 is a lot of money for those that are their mainly for the music to part with off the back of two very different headliners who may not be to their tastes.

I just want the lineup if i'm honest.

Are people forgetting that you can get your money back from your ticket until early May?

By which point we normally know the full line up - if not the full line up with times.

So still plenty of time cancel your tickets if you don't like the line up.

I am in the camp of going whatever the line up is and I don't know why I bother getting excited when it gets announced and planning who I want to see as I only ever seem to see 2-3 acts a day who I have planned to see anyway. You would have thought I would have learnt from experience, but the fact I am on this thread proves otherwise.

As I said, I'd not pay my balance if the lineup came out and there was nobody at all I wanted to see. That will never happen though. Surely people who've put down deposits know the kind of lineup Glastonbury put together every year and can be confident there'll be plenty of things they like on?

Saw Neil's post about it not being this month, got really excited that the lineup won't be out before balance payment/resale, then realised it isn't April yet. Ffs.

My order of likelihood:

1. Florence and the Machine

2. Prince

3. Taylor Swift

4. Madonna

5. Kylie

Why Flo at number 1? You reckon maybe she has stepped up to replace someone who has pulled out?

There's a presumption that people who are anxious for the line-up only care about the line-up and that's not fair at all. I'm eager for the line-up to drop as soon as possible, for a number of reasons:

  • It moves us one step forward towards those magical five days
  • The line-up tells us how the festival will look to fresh eyes and the public at large
  • I love the scoops Glastonbury Festival make and how they're often music rather than popularity centric.
  • I can actually start to think about how to structure my time there in terms of must-sees.

Look, I'm not only spending £225 on a ticket, I'm travelling 10,600 miles to be there and I'll be there whatever the line-up because I know just what a place it is, and what it means to me. But I can also be excited for the line-up and frustrated when it isn't released. The two positions aren't mutually exclusive.

Yeah I'd go with that order as well. I know a lot of people will disagree about Florence but at the moment I think she's the most likely, not that that's saying much given how unlikely most other acts seem to be.
