Mr November
from the Blur website Blur are confirmed to headline the Isle of Wight Festival on Saturday June 13. Tickets are available now at www.isleofwightfestival.com/tickets With BST Hyde Park on June 20 - ticket still available at www.bst-hydepark.com - this completes the band's UK festival appearances for 2015. It's almost like they put that in there just to wind us up a little bit more.
Mouseboy11
After hearing them come on last night I've decided it's The Walkmen "You've got a nerve to be asssssking a favouuuur"
COPG
I think that would be quite an underwhelming booking, just had her least succesful album ever, not had a decent single in years, is sadly eroding her past glories by refusing to put her muff away. Matt42
Now I'm firmly in the no Madonna camp, as I can't see it being likely... However it does seem like Glasto are very eager to get acts who have never headlined/played before Metallica, foo fighters, Kanye west, the Rolling Stones etc They even specified in Kanye's announcement very loudly that he had 'never played before'. So I can see why someone like or similar to madonna would be on their list - seems like they are pushing harder t get the last few remaining acts who haven't done it! wilem
Eavis has always been after Madonna.... As far as I'm concerned they're waiting 'til 2020 to book her
Wooderson
Nothing to do with her being one of the biggest selling/most famous performers on the planet. Nah, crucial thing is she hasn't played before. Stress that point.

eFestivals
I'm just relating this to Neil's previous comments about a possible shared act and Gittings comment about not topping Glastonbury.I can't really remember what context I might have said that within now, but I'd guess it was because they both still had headliners to announce. They have shared headliners in the past.Anyway, whatever I might have meant, it's not my thinking now. I believe that Blur are NOT headlining Glasto, tho I don't discount the possibility of being wrong.I wouldn't be too surprised if they did a 'secret' show of some kind tho, just on the basis that I know Damon and Emily are fairly chummy. Frankly Mr Shankly
Madonna is at a commercial dip in her career, her new label isn't pushing her as hard, the mainstream chart shows aren't interested anymore & she's obviously still desperate for publicity/relevance. A successful headline performance at Glastonbury could do wonders for her, so go figure... If she's ever going to do it, this is the year. Rose-Colored Boy
So who's still in the running then? Stone Roses T Swizzle P***** Radiohead Kings of Leon Ed Sheeran Madonna KoL are playing in America on the Thursday. Sheeran is playing in America on the Friday as well as the Monday after. Fair enough that does not technically make it impossible for them to play but it does make them less likely than Take That. ABBA will be the biggest booking the festival has ever made when it (eventually) happens. If they turned down a billion quid to reform they ain't doing it for Glasto's pitiful fee, surely from the Blur website Blur are confirmed to headline the Isle of Wight Festival on Saturday June 13. Frankly Mr Shankly
Why not next year when her tour is up and running? Knowing how Madonna usually operates, she's much more likely to do a big event like Glastonbury prior to her tour for the publicity, rather than towards the end of her tour... She has done festival dates prior to big tours in the past, she's never done one during a tour (as far as I know). Edit: can't be arsed to see when what time it counts down to.It might be the case that particular areas - the smaller stages - have been given dates they're allowed to announce on, that are unrelated to any major announcement. Rose-Colored Boy
I make it Monday at 11am. Glasto aren't usually ones to trail their announcements tho so wouldnt be surprised if it's something else.
