TheRedSeat
Would simple minds draw a big enough crowd these days? They are touring and used to be huge. That's it. Shut this thread down.
ghostdancer1
It is 100% not ed Sheeran Dates on the 26th and 29th in the US. It can't happen. Not enough time... not true, there's plenty of time. he can be back in the UK by Saturday night, and back in the US on Monday afternoon. it's quite unlikely that he's playing, but it's easily do-able. dentalplan
I've mentioned Chili's a couple times. They're in the UK a week before glasto and have nothing until September when I looked I thought it could be likely, but that view doesn't seem likely as there's some info about eavis being hesitant to sign after they pulled out in 93. Think you're thinking of the Red Hot Chili Pipers.
Bonehead> Clapton
I wouldn't rule the stone roses out because of inactivity. What we know so far is they reunited in 2012, stated they were to write new material, Shane meadows has confirmed there was new material. They toured till end of 13. And we haven't heard anything since. That could mean they haven't started an album or it could mean they have been recording it. There's been a lot of "rumours " lately, which suggest to me something is happening glasto or not! Long time lurker here! Thought I'd get involved! villain79
Used to enjoy the chili peppers myself and saw them a few times. Never again after their 'performance' at Leeds Festival in 2007. I saw them in 2003 and 2004, and they were amazing, but my mates who I saw them with (all massive Chili's fans) saw them at the Reading leg in 2007 (that was just after Stadium Arcadium wasn't it), and said the same as you - they were awful! I think they nearly split after that point, and John pretty much left straight after! Just can't get enthusiastic for them these days, which kind of disappoints me, as I will always consider them as one of my biggest influences growing up - Mothers Milk and Blood Sugar Sex Magik will always be two of my favourite albums ever! jonny2mad
I would love Bowie but unlikely I know. What about Kate Bush ? saw her show three times opening night middle of the run and last night, and even if she just sang she would be the best headliner we could hope for, she very likely wont want to do it . for years before she did before the dawn I have been saying she could be a great headliner . Glastonbury really would be mad if they don't try to book her even if she says no lots of times one year she might do it . People would be surprised how popular she would be, shes very theatrical so might not want to do a hugh venue without the theatre element so we might never see her. but if she wanted to she would be great. her voice in BTD even for a fan was much better than you expected never seen more people crying because of the emotion of the concert, and no phones in the air

Saw them touring By The Way at the MEN and V festival in 2003 and again a few years later at the city of Manchester and they were great, except for when they said we shouldn't have booed chicks on speed. James Brown supported them as well, great day.

kingcrawler
Duran Duran? I think they might be exclusives at Bestival but even then they wouldn't headline.

jarviscocker
Ed Sheran in December on Taylor swift playing glasto: Taylor is performing British Summertime at Hyde Park on Glastonbury weekend, so do you think there's a possibility she could be added to the festival line-up? "I'd bet you a large amount of money she doesn't - a large amount of money. Taylor doesn't like festivals." Oh really? "Yeah, so for any bookies reading... I think Taylor likes doing her own show because she's in control and it's how she wants it to be. With Glastonbury or any festival, you're at the mercy of the people who run the festival. The stage is how they want it to be and the lights are restricted by... At British Summertime she can have exactly the same staging as her tour and the same everything. She can have her own area and I think it's more just a control thing. She wants it all to be perfect."
captainmuscles
This is more ridiculous than the who suggestions. And they're playing elsewhere. Hey now. The Who headlined in 2007, and they were great.
DL50
If they release the lineup next week with a 'TBA' for the last headliner I think this forum will implode
fightoffyour
Do the National have a serious chance of playing? (Not headlining, just playing) I missed out on them last time. I can't remember who they clashed with. I'd like to make up for that The National clashed with no one. But other bands may have clashed with The National. Martin Ashford
I literally can't imagine 2 acts of that size that I would rather see. That's pretty much my dream Sunday there and would finally get me to see some acts on the Pyramid. It'd be truly amazing. Pretty near perfect
neville
I restart from "he's definitely british, the band aren't". speculations could be the followings: option 1: singer is british, other members aren't. ac/dc share the same manager with metallica (the thing was born on the platform, eavis said). so, it's ac/dc (brian johnson is british). option 2: not british band is foo fighters; kanye is obviously not british, so there must be a british singer on sunday. mc cartney? robert plant? jonny2mad
Just out of interest, why did you go three times? Some of us couldn't even get tickets for one. Well i got two tickets for the first night for me and my sister intending going just once, you could buy four tickets, that first night was so good I bought a second ticket online just by watching the site they were coming up a few at a time , and for the last night I went to london the day before and qued up all night with a sleeping bag . actually at about 1 in the morning the promoter came out and took names of the about a dozen people and said he would get us tickets so I was able to go and sleep on a fans mothers floor I met one women who had been every night. Why well originally I thought just go once but I really wanted to go the other two nights she is my favourite artist, and would have travelled to australia to see her
