A poster on a football board I occasionally frequent says he's heard from two senior people in live music that headliners are Mac, D Mode & AC/DC. Says first two were booked a while ago, latter more recently. No idea of reliability.

Personally I'd be surprised if Mode headlined, and think the Foos rumours sound very plausible.

No way would Eavis hire 3 headline acts who don't have a single member under the age of 50 for Glasto

Has anybody else given consideration to The Prodigy being a potential headliner for next year?

They have headlined pretty much every other festival in the UK and abroad, they have a new album coming out early next year and will be celebrating their 25th Anniversary in 2015. One of the UK's most ground-breaking and hugely influential bands. Put them on as a Friday night headliner and the Pyramid field will be rammed.

If I was a betting man I would say that The Prodigy, Foo Fighters and Fleetwood Mac would be my predictions. I don't care for the Foos too much, however they tick all the boxes, will pull it off with ease and will attract a large crowd.

Now I am a massive Prodigy fan but in what way would you say they were ground breaking?

I absolutely love Prodigy and have seen them loads but I don't know what they've done really since their last Other headline slot (2009) to warrant an upgrade? New album would have to be immense since Invaders Must Die was their biggest in a while and that didn't do it.

Really hoping they'll be there though, maybe reprising their Other slot.

They seem to of been "recording" their new album for so long now. Not sure anyone knows when they'll be back.

Said the new album would be out in February in this month's Q, but you're right, they seem to have been recording it for ages.

Can't see them playing next year, seems like they're only accepting headline slots now and I doubt Glastonbury would give them that.

New edition of Q magazine has a feature on them saying it is due in February. Invaders Must Die was a good, solid album and they are always a massive live draw. Been around long enough to have soundtracked a large percentage of Glasto goers youths as well as appealing to the younger generation who frequent the SE Corner and Dance Village. A greatest hits set on the Pyramid would go down a storm.

To say they were not ground-breaking is to do them a bit of a disservice too. They were certainly pioneers in the evolution of dance music and how they almost effortlessly crossed over into the mainstream without being part of any real 'Scene' at the time.
