willutalk
To be honest headliner speaking I feel that The prodigy might be more suited to a Reading headline performance.
HGavin
2nd year uni when Invaders came out. Saw them in NZ '09, though not sure it totally lived up to the hype. I love their 90s stuff and probably rate Always Outnumbered higher than Invaders
hoils
I was in the upper 6th (showing my age there. All this year 9 nonsense leaves me most confused) when Experience came out. Remember seeing them in Chippenham Goldiggers with SL2 in the spring of 92 and they were ace. Time's not been so kind to them, I fear. Were good at Glasto in 95, a bit naff in the mud in 97 (when Dennis Pennis upstages you, you know you've got a problem) and since then it's all got very tedious. No Maxim, I'm not one of your voodoo people. Stop shouting at me.
The 38 year old virgin
I remember going to my first festival (reading 94) and jilted generation was a huge album for us. In my eyes, the first album that brought together the 2 genresof dance and rock/alternative, or maybe the first that both subcultures could enjoy together

jamesrfisher
Experience came out in my last year at Poly, they even played the Coventry Students Union. Now I do feel old!
eastynh
Experience came out in my last year at Poly, they even played the Coventry Students Union. Now I do feel old! You may feel old but you should also feel lucky to have experienced a golden era for music. From the start of acid house till the end of Britpop was a magical era. michael eavis' beard
Can people who were in school/college/uni when Invaders Must Die came out please stop referring to themselves as "old" - it's doing nothing for those of us who were listening to Fat Of The Land in college....on tape! Rose-Colored Boy
"He went on to confirm that one of the three artists has "been around for a long time" and that all three names will be announced on April 1." if that isn't the usual ME bullshit then how long is "a long time" if he means more than 15 years then it rules out it being more than one of Foos/Kate Bush/ACDC/Muse or does he mean "been around for a long time" as in actual age, in which case it rules out lots of people but not Adele also it being announced on April Fools will send efests into meltdown, cant wait Edited October 30, 2014 by Zac Quinn

And yes, yes I am an old c**t, thanks for reminding me.
Monkey Boy 44
Can anyone point me in the direction of these 'odds' that articles such as the NME one keep referring to? I quite fancy a flutter but can't actually find anywhere online to put money down, just articles with these lists of mythical odds!
mr gumby
Bearing in mind that A: It's Michael Eavis talking and B: It's the NME reporting it, so a 25 kilo bag of salt is needed, he reckons the 3 headliners will be announced on April 1st. I wonder when the rest of the lineup is likely to be.

A Guy Called Matt
All I see is Mr Eavis and 1st April and then move on to read something else given his recent track record. Good old Michael.

I'm pretty sure they just make them up (Linkin Park, Kate Bush, Robert Plant?!) to support their article and the bookmakers don't actually take money until nearer the time. Matt42
Wow, I don't think Fleetwood Mac will ever play glastonbury now... However this makes me think they may well have AC/DC. One of the guesses on here was foos, AC/DC, Rihanna.... I wonder.
