I get the appeal of her, I get WHY people like her. I also like some of her stuff and i'm not really ashamed to admit it...

According to her last world tour she had quite the show, something I didn't expect but if it comes to Glastonbury i'l happily check it out. She'd probably put a lot of effort into it... this won't be anything like if Rihanna or Katy Perry headlined, she's grouped with them but she would provide a very different live show.

Iโ€™m similar, although to a greater extent. I do like her a fair bit, but I find her music can get a bit boring over the course of a whole album. I just think sheโ€™s got loads of really good songs that would make for a great setlist, and as you mention, her live show seems quite entertaining.

Think the point made before about more women headliners being needed is a good one. I also think almost all major male pop stars today are a bit shit, whereas most of the women are quite good at it.

only headliner from BST last year that played Glastonbury was Arcade Fire.

none of the rest did, despite some like The Libertines and Neil Young being clearly suited, or even Tom Jones for the legends slot.

it's extremely unlikely that Taylor Swift will play.

they've moved BST to glasto weekend though. that must surely count for something.

Hang on a minute, Are people seriously suggesting Taylor Swift will be at Glastonbury? Regardless of how many albums she's sold, she is utter shite.

She's better than Kasabian. And Mumford. Put together, probably.

I don't know. I'd go and enjoy her set if she didn't clash with anybody else, but she's not big enough either within the UK or with Glasto's demographic to actually headline, is she? I just can't see it happening, myself. That said, if she did play I couldn't see her not headlining, so who knows.

Why the sudden speculation, anyway? She's already confirmed she can't do one out of three dates, and she'd never play Friday night, so it'd mean she'd go from Hyde Park on Saturday night to Pilton on Sunday. The distance has been done before (hell, even Dolly managed it) but it's unlikely, isn't it? She's not expected like Dolly was.

No I'd agree that she isn't either. I mean she's big and obviously getting bigger in this country but I don't reckon she's got anything like the widespread appeal in the UK that Beyoncรฉ had or Kylie had when they were booked to headline.

Yeah she'll be doing Marlay Park the same weekend.

Have to say, while not remotely interesting to me, acts like Beyonce and Rihanna are completely unavoidable both for their music and their celebrity. Whereas I can't say i'd recognise Taylor Swift if she passed me in the street, let alone know any of her songs. No where near big enough to headline imo.

Yeah, same. I loved Beyonce and no problem with Taylor headlining but what does she sing? Might have heard a song in a shop or something?

Anyway, pretty sure the distance from London to Pilton ain't no thang for an American artist...

I thought that as I was typing! Talking Heads would be fantastic!

when Tom Tom Club played in 2013, i was amazed that several people said to me "why are they playing a Talking Heads song?"

I'd be happy to see TTC back again. I'd seen them twice previously when I'd not much enjoyed them, but thought they were great at Glasto.

Tho i'd always prefer David Byrne (he has the songs!) or for TH to reform - which won't happen, unfortunately. :(

They were great yeah. Way too soon for a return surely though.

Has anyone mentioned QOTSA as possible headliners?

Seems like their gig tonight is their last for this tour so doubt we'll see them for a couple of years now. Read in an interview with Josh Homme the other day (think someone posted it on here actually) where he said he'd be recording a new QOTSA album next year as well as doing Eagles of Death Metal stuff.

Ahh okay not likely then. That's good news about new material though! Thought they were brilliant at Wembley Arena last year

I think QOTSA are at a perfect stage to sub headline the Pyramid Stage. I think that they've move on from an Other headliner after being a Readliner but may not suit the Glasto demographic so much to be a headliner unlike Reading where the they have a very strong fan base. I'd love them to play every year! Partly because I have a man crush on Josh. (Shhh)
