What time to leave London?

Hi Guys and Gals. Do any of you old Glasto veterans have a strategy for what time to leave London to get in on site early on Wednesday? I was considering setting off at sort of 4am. Too early? Ihave to set up 5 tents for my group in Dairy field so need to get there before it is rammed.

You're best off putting your postcode into a travel planner online. The postcode for the festival is BA4 4BY.

Note, the A303 may well cause you a delay because of resurfacing work. One route out of London which avoids the A303 is as follows:

M4; M32; A4032; A4044; A37; A361.

Setting off at 4am should see you arrive before 7am but there will be a lot of people ahead of you so prepare to queue, and also be prepared to be tutted at for setting up four tents for people who aren't there yet.

There will be a giant queue at that time, people start queuing early the previous night.

You won't get tuts if you set up the tents, it's saving empty space that annoys folk. We're taking a tarp to hold a gap for our mate - never had a problem with this
