gorbag
We're missing Glastonbury but do have tickets to Kendal Calling. I know it's much smaller but is it as nice? Edited June 28, 2014 by gorbag
viberunner
Nicer. Glastonbury is full of posh people worrying about getting their Hunters muddy and pretending they're getting some kind of karmic spirit washing. For scale and band choice it's the king, obviously, but I can't help think Burning Man shows it up. Kendal Calling is full of poor-but-happy (bless their little unshod feet) Northerners letting rip and having a reet good party. Only one main stage, but lots of side stages, you feel the "togetherness" of a small festival, but with enough variety you're not feeling "lectured" too if you know what I mean. You're gonna love it. stinkywhimp
We're missing it bad, Last one we missed was 2008. Cause we moved house, been going for years :-( Doing KC this year but was going to go even if we did get Glasto tickets. gorbag
Cheers Viberunner, I get what you say about posh people at Glasto but I wouldn't say it's full of them; and those that are there generally spend all their time in front of the Pyramid anyway. Do the poor but happy northeners throw three quarters full plastic glasses of beer (or worse) about at the main stage? Stinkywhimp: Know exactly what you mean. Our son is there so we can't avoid constant updates each day, it's a killer isn't it? We've only missed 09 & 10 since 2002 before now and the withdrawal is chronic. Definitely going next year!! Hopefully KC will help fill the massive Pilton sized hole in me. Enjoy Beatherder
