Top 5 of Glastonbury 2014

I can only judge by the excellent BBC online coverage as I couldn't make it to this years festival. However, the online coverage meant I could watch more than I would have seen if I was actually there. It means my choices are limited to only the top 6 stages but the amount of choice was still excellent.

So now the sets are over apart from the Sunday Night Entertainment, what do people judge as their top 5 acts of 2014. I might even put everyone's top 5s together to make some sort of 'efestivals: top band of Glasto 2014' thing.

Mine were:

1. Arcade Fire ( Headline - Pyramid,)

2. Royal Blood ( Mid Order - John Peel)

3. Pixies (Sub-Headline - Other)

4. Bombay Bicycle Club (Mid Order - Other)

5. The Black Keys (Sub Headline - Pyramid)

Disappointments:

1. Blondie (Opening - Other)

2. Haim (Mid Order - Other)

3. White Lies (Mid Order - Other)

Was the Other Stage sound particularly poor on TV this year?

Who are your choices?

In no particular order

Metallica

Daptone Super Soul Review

Thunderbirds are Go!

De La Soul

Dolly

Biggest surprise Lily Allen, ended up really enjoying it despite myself. Worst thing I saw, probably the 1975 whilst waiting for Dolly - I don't know them at all and didn't get it really - not sure what they were all about (I know someone who knows someone who knows them and they're supposed to be decent lads though, so it's probably just me being old)

Top five:

Fat White Family

Massive Attack

Royal Blood

The Brian Jonestown Massacre

De La Soul

The Smyths get mention for the sing along on Sunday at Williams Green, (we even briefly managed to get someone who couldn't get close to the tent that it was a real Smiths reunion it was the vocals were that good).

From the coverage I allowed myself to watch I would say (in no particular order)

1. Arcade Fire (if there was an order they would be number 1)

2. Wolf Alice

3. Four Tet

4. James Blake

5. Bombay Bicycle Club

Also strangely enjoyed Lana Del Rey, not a fan of hers in the slightest but it kind of worked for me in a weird way
