Enjoyed Thunderbirds, I was one of five of us who wore Thunderbirds characture ( spelling!) masks ,it was a good crack.

Late I know but my thought on 2014?

Enjoyed meeting some faces at the Efests meet, though fleetingly as i stayed to the side of it talking to " Chuckles" off here and my Brother and mate, met Neil who was nothing as I had imagined especially taking into account his musical references, but there you go you can never tell :) got absolutely bladdered.

I enjoyed the fest and thought the weather wasn't that bad, good camping spot in Kidney Mead, though we'd got there bloody earlier enough so we should have done , too bloody early and won't be repeating it again next year , should we be so lucky. All good save for the massive Uni bunch beside us who were lazy pigs, enough said.

Not overall as good as 2010 and it will have to go something to beat that year for me.

I did notice the ever increasing younger crowd, and yea it is me getting older as well. I thought the SE corner a bit of a waste of time this year so will attempt other late night things next.

Yes the food has gone up but didn't think the quality had gone down at all. Though I'd say that the much heralded Goan Fish curry wasn't all it is written up to be IMO. Don't buy food in over populated areas like SE corner and Pyramid.

Highlights for me: Goldfrapp and St Vincent were amazing, Amiliana Torrini gave me a moment singing " Birds", love that song, Sophie Ellis Bextor was surprisingly brilliant and she can "take me home" any day, and Hazel O'Connor singing " Will you" was immense, especially the sax solo at the end. Courtney Barratt in the Park on Friday morning was amazing, And the Miriaches was so much fun on the Sunday.

What I've learnt is that the smaller stages provide 1) a better viewing experience 2) a better watching audience = more fun. I will repeat next year ( hopefully) , I didn't see a Pyramid act all weekend and only saw three Other Stage sets. Depends on line up obviously ;)

You can avoid the nobs and idiots by ignoring them, as there are plenty about, mostly people trying to have a good time in their own way, just the ones that want their good time to intrude into yours when you don't want them to.

On the whole a good time, not vintage ( been to 5 now) , but we'll be back in October luck willing!

One of my favourite years, for various reasons...

Brief observations:

* Weather didn't bother me at all, still easy to get around in boots and occasional wellies. Far more enjoyable than 2007 or 2011.

* Sound seemed a little better on the Other Stage, which has traditionally sounded a bit bum for me.

* Food still excellent, slight price increases, but the bargains are very much still out there - step forward No Bones Jones and Yam The Cassava for delicious, nutritious £5 veggie feeds.

* Bars easy to get served at, no problems there at all.

* Getting in and out via Gate A/Hospitality gate, piece of cake.

* Really glad we moved to Hawkwell from Oxlyers, great spot.

* Stone Circle isn't where it's at anymore.

* Silent Disco queue is still ridiculous.

* Preferred Arcadia location, but the act itself seemed to have been downgraded and removed of all artistry, left with just blasts of the burners and raving.

* Loss of Alleyways in Shangri La a great shame, again, hardcore raving with little artistry seemed to have replaced it, althought the artwork on the walls and the Hell Stage were pretty cool.

* Strummerville is a lovely place to end an evening.

* Don't like the Mutoids in such a passive, neutered format, let them roam!

* Met dozens of friendly people. Nice spirit all around

* Food stalls/markets seem to shut down completely at around 3/4 now? Is that new? Licence condition? Every time we walked back to Hawkwell down the main drag to the Pyramid at the end of the night, it was deserted and everything was closed

Where is the silent disco in Sonic? 3 Glastonbury's and I've never noticed it! Admittedly don't spend a great deal of time around there but usually we at least walk through and I've never spotted it. Does it play the same kind of cheesy music or is it banging dance tunes?
