Also returning...been going on and off since 1990...not so much in recent years due to inability to get ticket or family shite or just being a bit middle aged and boring and more interested in politics threads rather than doing something called having fun. Going with a bunch of fellow mid life crisis sufferers, hope I make it, and hope the weather gods are good to us.
And others are forced to take annual leave because they can't commute to/from work for at least three days (tues, weds, monday).
Huge detours, making alternative childcare arrangements because the the commute is two hours longer each day, local businesses struggling to fill slots because folk don't want to be stuck in traffic.
Yes, some people benefit from the money but for many more, it's just a PITA
I went to Hurricane last year and attend RFP every year. It's RFP for me.
I am not a fan of those festivals, where the audience spends a lot of time in the camp partying and then they go to see some popular German acts and the headliner and go back to drinking in the camp... but I get it, there is nothing to do in the area. Also you will probably walk a lot.
RFP, people are coming early (11 AM) to see the bands and leaving the park when it closes at 3 AM, the stages are quite close and bands are not clashing that much. Prices for food and drinks are cheaper... it's also a mini beer festival with... maybe 100 kind of beers? There is also a stage for theater, stand up comedy, performances etc. parties
TPD TV went there in 2022 and they had fun - https://youtu.be/ydMc2ygxzR4?si=z9rhiHFwvpZ_Yu63
I wouldn't even put Yokyo in that lot but I'd absolutely have The Wombats over Jamie T, Nutini. But I'm not having them as a headliner but theg were alright on Friday night of Y Not. Little run of Reytons, Wombats and Royal Blood. You couldn't get much better than that fest for price.
I would take any of them, Zombie at a push. Don't like Jamie T haha
