Not sure the sloe wine will be ready for glasto, as it's supposed to be matured for a year. Think it'll be more of an autumn/winter drink anyway. I am thinking of having a go at making mead though. That should be a fair bit quicker. If successful, I could bring some along!

That's inspiring. I've bought some apple trees for the lotty. I'll bring cider (in 2027).

I shall donate my share to anyone else - tried to like Mead but yukkie is my constant response when I try it.

Have you tried a dry(ish) mead? I like traditional sweet mead in small quantities, but a dry one is like drinking a dry wine with the taste of summer meadows in the background. I'm hoping to produce both, so maybe you'll give it a try!

I've had that at posh afternoon tea before. We've got a tea house in Preston that serves flower tea too.

Me too! It'll be my first go at making it myself, but the recipe seems pretty easy (famous last words!).

Good luck! I like a sweet mead, but every one I have tried I have liked! I've never tried to make booze of any variety- oh apart from strawberry gin for this years fest. That was nice!

Tip for everyone: never tell a child something is a secret. I was making a birthday present with our little boy today for his mum's birthday next week and I told him not to say anything when she got in. The first words out of his mouth when she arrived were 'Mummy Birthday!' I'm slowly learning!
