Matt, Slodge, have a great weekend!!

I went to Finland just over a year ago, my bestest mate lives there now. It is beautiful! They are there for good so I plan many return visits to different parts of the country.

(1) A band whose name I don't think I ever knew - as oppossed to can't remember. It was a fair few years ago and it r****d right from the start. To avoid another down pour we ducked in to a smallish tent where a live band were playing. They were great musicians and what they were playing had great value too. In between songs the lead singer would tell heavy duty corny jokes. For some reason everyone in the room appeared to just run with the jokes. There was much honest laughter, and in my soul, a great feeling of wellbeing.

(2) Primal Scream - I went to see them once with two mates, the three of us having consummed mushrooms. We found a nice position before they started. We tried so hard not to be unhinged, but failed bysmally. I agreed with one friend that the other friend did indeed have heat waves coming from his head. Then, the friend that I agreed with said something to the effect of ' you think he's got problems, I've got the Grim Reaper standing behind me'. I looked but could not see him/ her /it. And then there was suddenly music. A fantastic and mesmerising wall of sound - Primal Scream had started playing. I looked up to the stage and realised that it looked like one of them Christmas snow flake in water type things you have to shake to get any possible understanding of why it was made in the first place. The members of the band were all about an inch high, and the sound cosmic.

(3) Blondie - this was the only act I made an effort to see last year. Trying to get into the field to see here was major hell with the crowds. We finally got to a point where we just said let's just stop here. As we did so Blondie started doing Atomic. I was elated. The reason for this is two fold - the first is that I really like the song. The second is that my dad, who I've never know to dance, danced to a remix version of it at my wedding reception. He and my mom ( who will dance at the drop of a hat) had been dragged on to the dance floor by a rather camp friend of mine who they had never even met before. So, when Blondie played that track at that moment last year it was joyous. I'd choose them again so that I could hear that track again.

Sorry about the War & Peace type post - I just felt like writing. Here's hoping you felt like reading.
